so I went to workshop to check what happen, the foreman said the throttle body need to replace.. doh.gif

not necessarily need to change the throttle body. try service it 1st see better or not. and if really need to change, if the upeer part still ok, you just need to change the lower part (IC Chip).
*
Yeah..the chip got problem..but according to the foreman, need to change the whole thing..lol..
How to determine whether is SVDO/MMC? doh.gif

new should be around RM750,
recond around RM300
if just changed the lower part to a new one is around RM400

if your foreman say have to change the whole thing, either he didn't bother or there are some parts that already stuck, cannot be serviceable.

recond TB really depend on luck. it might last 1 year or it might last 1 month..
*
He said TB cannot repair or service..if got problem, change to a new set is better.. hmm.gif
Now still thinking whether replace or not..because the car still can drive.. wink.gif

i don't know how to see if it ori or fake. and in car servicing and parts, it's like normal already to be cheated. just accept it or improve your knowledge till you can do everything to avoid being cheated.

for the parts, it is better if you buy it yourself from spare part shop. buy from you trusted shop or ask from your friend which shop they trust.
buy, then give the mechanic to fix it.
*
Ok..so normally you all dont straight go workshop and fix it? normally go spare part shop and buy spare part and bring it to workshop to fix?

4g93 is nice. 4g91 also nice and cheap.

4g93 is 1.8 got both single cam or twincam
4g91 is 1.5 twincam
*
So the performance is better than the stock 1.5 engine?
Can I know the price for both?

change the gearbox? nope.. just do some setting to the auto gearbox to make it up-shift at higher rev, and drive 'manually' by shifting the auto stick, drive aggresively. then hope it will adapt to it lo... if not, have to made some minor modification lo.. thats what i've gone thru.. but see oly sifu got suggestion or not. mine is purely from my experience. and btw, the atf i using is toyota de atf.

Toyota ATF seems cheaper than Proton thumbup.gif

yes, it is cheaper!  rclxms.gif
*
But is there a significant improvement? Recently I just flush the GB ATF by using "Total" ATF..seems no improvement..I mean still the same with previous(before flush).. rclxub.gif
Besides that, is there any other thing that can effect the performance of the car?
Petrol will effect the car's performance? the new Shell V-Power 97 is it better than normal RON 97? or just marketing strategic? hmm.gif

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jul 12 2010, 11:19 PM)
Probably for the engine oil, you can use lighter mineral oils like 10w-40
You might see an improve in FC
*
