QUOTE(jay @ Feb 28 2010, 02:58 PM)
wow thx sifu up there pointin out all the details...
i'm using 15w-40w castrol black oil and i'm topping up once a week if i got hard driving/long distance for 5~6hours
oil consumption is terrifying and sometimes it goes from middle line (based on the engine oil level on the dipstick)
to EMPTY [DRY, no oil on dipstick]
one more thing is radiator water got less significantly after hard driving
(my engine doesnt "eat" black oil only, it oso "eat" WATER!! wad a monster)
*
then try 15W 50 n see if it's still consuming engine oil or not~
as for radiator's water try open up ur bonet n start ur engine n cheak for water leakage~

i would suggest u change ur engine oil cap 1st ... 15w40 is still considered ok .... once changed then monitor again, before changing better check around ur engine bay for oil stains just to confirm ....

sidegapped sparkplugs refer to my siggie...

the difference between da 3 is material and price... copper ones, being the cheapest, perform so so... platinum and iridium ones last longer... but if ur engine isnt forced induction or high compression, use normal copper plugs should be ok...

there are wide range of normal copper plugs u can try... most basic, oem replacement ones... more expensive one, bosch super 4 sparkplugs... or my sidegapped plugs...

if long time no change, sparkplug deteriorates, the gap between electrode become wider, u willl experience misfiring, jerkiness and unstable idling... worn sparkplugs also cause engine hard to start...
where got so serious laa... if didnt do properly, misfiring only maa....
*
din't do properly give misfiring which also damage igniction coil if tat fella dunno~ laugh.gif
