First , what's your AVR.

And what type of Audio did you select in the game?

Go to Audio Setting in PS3, then do an auto setup via HDMI. It will pick up the abilities of yr AVR and auto stream it out....

You may want to find out whether your AVR has the setting something like preset listening mode where you could assign your preferred audio mode to the incoming audio signal detected by your AVR. I know Onkyo AVR has this setting but not too sure about the Yammy.

i mean untick all the 'Linear PCM 5.1 & Linear PCM 7.1' options ONLY...when u play PS3 games..it will automatically output DD, no need to switch on manually in the game option.

100% not cable problem... doh.gif

if it is a game...
some of the game 'force' PS3 to decoded it...even you bitstream also it will show PCM on your AVR...
so it really depend on the game...

i know some game will show Dolby Digital in AVR...e.g resident evil 5 smile.gif
