hi bb users,

i just got my BB Bold 9700 from celcom with unlimited package

i have tired to tether BB with my mac but failed sad.gif (extremely frustrated)

firmware on both toys

BB v5.0.0.445 platform 5.1.0.121
macbook air os 10.6.2

this is what i have done

on BB - set bluetooth ON, discovery - ON

on mac - set bluetooth ON, discoverable ON

i was the shown a screen with numbers XXXXX on mac and BB
click ok on BB and both BB and mac connects

modem on mac settings
research in motion
blackberry ip modem (CDMA)
apn : celcom3g (i set the same on BB too)

bluetooth DUN settings
configuration - default
telephone number *99#
acc name - blank
password - blank

whenever i click connect i get the dreaded "connection could not be established to the PPP server...."
i've tried bb ip modem (GSM), bb 8100,8700,8800 ... same error

i've called celcom and we talked on the phone for 3 times, each time over 1 hour but still no connection!!

FYI ive tried to connect using winxp desktop with desktop manager ... SUCCESS! so there is nothing wrong with my BB

guys please help!

Bro,

I'm using a T-Mobile AP set 9700 and can tether with my Macbook Pro using Celcom unlimited.
Since am using ap, my apn is epc.tmobile.com. Modem is set to blackberry modem (GSM) and password is what you set, if any.
Initially I had problems getting this right, but after 2 tries manage to tether. nod.gif

after exactly 2 months & countless hours on the line with celcom, i finally managed to get my BB9700 to tether with my MBA biggrin.gif

YAY!!

ok so here's the trick tongue.gif

1st go to http://taniwha.org.uk/
browse for windows smartphones & blackberrys (its located siemens phones & generic scripts)
download blackberry 3g scripts

extract the file & copy all 3 files to library\modem scripts

then connect your BB using bluetooth as usual

on the vendor select OTHER
model blackberry 3g CID1

leave all other settings to default

now here's the trick biggrin.gif

under telephone type in 'celcom3g' (yes .. i know it's not a number ..DUH)
account name 'guest'
password 'guest'

press connect and VOILA

enjoy guys ... i know i sure did biggrin.gif

Hai guys, regarding the celcom bb unlimited packages,

The " UNLIMITED " is refers to unlimited download or only eligible for surfing internet ?
