heard from my friend this lake with alot mysteries. -it used to be a lombong bijih timah with 1k feet deep(could be more) thoose elderly claim if u look from the top, thoose lorry is size like a matchbox -after it become a lake, thoose water cant be dry up if not building around the lake will slide into the lombong. -a kid fall into the lake and dead body unable to find -kid's parent hire diver to dive into the lake to find his son dead body, after the 1st time diver dive into lake they refuse to do 2nd time. diver claim they unable to reach to the bottom of the lake and they saw a giant arapaima(a kind of fish) which huge like metro bus! im so curious and desperate to knw the full story. tell me what u have heard a bout this lake!  6 feet long giant arapaima sourceThe Mining DevelopementThis post has been edited by paulcj: Feb 1 2010, 07:37 PM |

My geography teacher told me. Its used to be a lombong biji timah last time...
and its even deeper than the tall of KLCC! Imagine KLCC only 600m Tall...
There's still got biji timah under there... but can't be korek for sure lar.... Got what ikan there no one know cause really too deep and dark...
unless got Japanese Submarine....
Actually that place should be abandoned coz last time mahathir also no idea how to improve that place.... Itu Godlike Vincent Tan dare to take risk and build a shopping mall under that lake....

so far the true stories i've heard was during the time when KL is having water problems.
drm has agreed to extract the water source from the mines lake.. during that time, the water drains to a level where you can see the old lorries head (a.k.a lori hantu)..rusty and lookin scary...
some guys who have gone fishing there admits, sometime they saw a sighting of a long, big unidentified type of fish (could be arapaima)...

i worked at sapuracrest a few years back.. when the big earthquake at acheh happened.. a lot of fishes in the lake (mostly catfish) swam to the side.. weird stuff.

Anyway Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew owns Mines not Tan Sri Vincent Tan which own Times Square.
And there is this story once where Lee Kim Yew took a photograph of some small hills at the side of the lake even before the place is being developed. Then he sent the picture to some Feng Shui fella and the guy turned the picture 90 degrees to see it resembles a Pagoda. So there goes the story from there. Anyone notices there is a very long dragon running through the building? You can spot the tail from the highway. The whole place is built around Feng Shui. The picture used to be at my old office place. But have since lost it already.

well they fishes that are they fro the last time i went were affrican cat fish. they do grow to big sizes.
and for the unrecovered and unfound bodies, cat fish they will eat anything organic they can find. so u know what happen to those who drowned.

The largest I hv seen was inside the Giant plentong Aquarium shop..I think probably ~1.5 X normal human..Dunno whether the fish still there. The fish is not even Asian species...It's native of South America. Arapaima is fish predator...So far never heard its attack human as u can see the guy swimming inside the big tank...but Long-long time ago, while visiting few nurseries in Bakri Muar Johor and my 1st encountered wth this huge fish, the owners were telling me they might grabbed our hand just like Toman! So I not dare putting my hand inside the tank liao

You can see this kind of fish in batu pahat, johor. There is one chinese temple near the sea which rare few of this fish. Quite a lot of people visit there.
And you can use your hand to stroke the fish. They said will bring luck.
