perhaps,
after some thinking, even if I tried on my acer, I can't measure the temp since none for intel gpu sweat.gif
and trying it on others laptop, not feasible...

Only in macs you can (macbooks and such). On PC laptops the graphics card does not include any sensor on mac , it uses alternate sensor to get GPU temperature. Its optional , by default to cut down cost its not included

Care to elaborate more about this, kinda confused with this statement sad.gif...what do you mean by :

"on pc laptops the graphics card does not include any sensor on mac' rclxub.gif

Enlighten me bro smile.gif

Inside ur graphics card there is a diode , it measures the degree of hotness and reports to the system , thats how you get temperature. On graphcis card with onboard video from Intel , there is no such thing as this 'thermometer' because intel graphics card are soo cool (and soo useless) they rarely ever get hot.

Anyway , those who asked about thermal paste - Get Tuniq-TX3. Its thick but its non conductive or artic silver 5. Some say its non conducive , but others do say it is . When getting a thermal paste , MAKE SURE ITS NOT CONDUCTIVE. If its conductive , abit of paste in othe component ,poof short circuit occurs and your laptop will be 'BBQ'ed'

prasys, what about Tuniq TX-2? Currently using that. Would TX-3 make any changes? hmm.gif
*
Will do , as long its a thermal paste. Since TX3 is new I recommended that. It does not matter , apply it and temps should drop

Ever tried putting the thermal paste onto CPU/GPU in laptop?? The one that usually they put thermal sticker hmm.gif..maybe you got experience can share with us smile.gif

@want
Well, i guess that would be it as Linux won't have any support from NV to create drivers for hybrid, even in Window rarely we see update for hybrid ones sad.gif...

Thermal pads ? Its made of paraffin wax. On my u100 , there were not any (cheapo guys). Applying a bit of thermal paste should do the trick. But this requires some careful stuff

i'LL take a picture or two later on with my U100.

My bad sad.gif

Does i5 come with GMA HD in the mobo itself? icon_idea.gif

Processor , it depends , the processor has it . Its up to the OEM to allow users to use hybrid graphics or not (aka switch to Intel or dedicated graphics). The graphics card is part of the i5 and i3
