Someone needs to update the first post with 64 bit drivers. I had to search the forums and a couple of posts to find 195.62 dox modded. If you just use the latest + inf modded, hybrid graphics won't work and you're stuck on the darn GM4500HD. Now I kinda regret buying notebooks with Geforce in it. So much for the touted driver stability. Oh well, the only thing that stops me is cuz I want to mod this thing to Quadro. This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 28 2010, 08:01 PM

Nah, I'm someone who just bought a BenQ S42. I left 32 bit a year ago.

Dox's 195.62 shows black screen, with or without the fix. I'm doing more tests on how to get this thing installed.

Okay, none of Dox's drivers work. Optimus requires a specific hardware, I've read about it. I, however, will check out Nautis's. Can you give me a link?

It doesn't work at all. All I get is a black screen.

Simple, windows 7 on their default drivers, and then install Dox 195.62 with hybrid graphics. I tried both non-patched and patched dox. It just doesn't work.
I don't know if it matter, but my BenQ is C2D P8700.
I cleaned plenty of times. No go. Last resort, I will format this thing. I have a theory that the Forceware 197.25 I installed messed things up, like profiles and stuff.

Haha, I tried 185.85 too, using the same steps. none of you ever had black screen problem? It's worth mentioning that installing a non-hybrid driver results in nvidia reporting that there are no monitors. Hence, my theory of profile remnants, which can either be removed by hunting it down, or format. Damn, I swear I'm never gonna get nvidia again for notebooks. I clean drivers using driver sweeper, using the steps you've mentioned. I'll do more tests before launching my final resort. Oh hey, this might be beneficial to me, I might even be able to carry it to school This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 28 2010, 11:39 PM

Good point, how do I do that? Set power saves in safe mode and then reboot? Well, you can't exactly put it to power savers mode when the whole screen is black, can you?
Anyway, I'm going to try power savers after I'm doing downloading a few drivers. Will try Optimus next, it looks like the key to my problem.

I have exhausted all means. Power savers, driver sweeper, delete drivers, driver sweeper and then driver sweeper some more. Nothing. I'll reformat. This probably will take shorter IMO.
I couldn't get bluetooth to work. Is there a button that enables bluetooth on the laptop or something? Wherever it is, I couldn't find it lol.
It's a shame. ATI provides full support for their notebook drivers, hybrid graphics or not.

A format.. didn't work. I'm going to try Optimus, and then I'll format it back to 32-bit.

Yeah, I am. Not sure if I can get the laptop there, I'll have to ask my father. On another note... I forgot to turn on power savers, gonna try that first.

Mind telling me what you did to install your 185.85? Step by step I mean.
Like..
1. Boot Testsigning mode 2. Power saver on 3. install 4. Check power save on again, 5. Boot testsigning mode 6. Pray
Added on March 29, 2010, 2:14 amWell, I've found a way to permanently enable power saver at boot, just in case it keeps reverting. I'll explain how, if it fixes the black screen >.> .

Dude, IT WORKS. MY PLAN WORKS. I set windows to spam set power save at boot. I'll do a few more tests, and I'll give out the fix in the form of registry.
THIS, MIGHT BE, THE KEY, TO ALL, BLACK SCREEN PROBLEMS!
Problem is, you'll have a hard time logging in if you have two accounts, or a passworded account.

Fix to all, 195.62, 185.85, 191.66, whatever.
Some bad news, it doesn't work. Looks like it only works in conjunction with 190.38 Nautis'
