Lol, only a few moments of excitement. I'm glad I got a driver to work though.

I've never tried optimus. I don't really like the overlay anyway.
EDIT: So I've found out that I didn't really manage to do it. The script failed to set it power saver mode. This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 29 2010, 02:54 AM |

Well, anyway guys, if all else fails, try this driver.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.p...7&postcount=460 That one works for me, finally. @lee_what2004: Yeah, I did, but I have to use the above driver I mentioned. This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 29 2010, 02:57 AM |

You can't break 5.9 without an SSD. The performance index is made that way.
I'll check my HDD speed later. I don't know whether mine is 5400 or 7200 either @Games4Life: Check my Windows performance index, you decide. Plus, if you go and take a look at all those Core i5 laptops, what GC are they using? 9600m GT is on par with Radeon HD 4670, so your minimum requirement is at least 9600m GT or Radeon HD 4670. I've seen Core i5 notebooks running on GMA. Notebookreviews usually carry 3dmark scores of them graphics cards This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 29 2010, 12:43 PM |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Mar 29 2010, 12:47 PM) I beg to differ.http://techreport.com/articles.x/15559/6 Laptops got their core running on 500MHz, so scale accordingly. Even then, 9600 GT still rocks Hell, that's the main reason I bought this laptop lol Yes, 9600m GT is probably the only non-rebranded notebook GPU. 9600m GT chip= 9600 GT chip This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 29 2010, 12:57 PM |

Hmm.. you're right, lee_what2004.
5470 has 80 shaders aka 16 sets of shaders. Performance isn't that good. I tried an Acer Timeline with a 4330 that has 80 shaders too, so performance will be as good as that. RV8xx uarch seems to be slower clock for clock compared to RV7xx, when shader amount is the same. Both are more expensive after all.. I just want to enable Quadro on this 9600m GT. Anyone can report on me regarding Left 4 Dead 2? Is it laggy or not? Friend of mine say laggy.. which I find impossible, since even a Radeon HD 4330 plays that game so well.

I'm definitely an AMD/ATI fanboy for notebooks now after my experience with Benq S42. Sigh. Excellent drivers from AMD/ATI, they fully support hybrid graphics and everything. I know, my brother has an Acer Timeline.
Gotta find the next best bang for buck gaming notebook, hahaha. |

Any luck with what?
Anyway, latest report on my BenQ S42. Left 4 Dead gives me some heavy stuttering issue. Even at 40fps the game stutters, while at 40 fps, my friend's laptop with ATI is as smooth as silk. So, my next task? Install 185.85 dox drivers, hope it works. LOL nvm, it seems to be a problem with the power savings on Win7. I set to high performance, it works well This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 31 2010, 01:54 PM |

Well, another report that I forgot to say. Videos are tearing. This pisses me off. Trying to fix it for now.

It's enabled. That's what pissing me off. Oh yea, I'm going to disable triple buffering and see what it does.
That was surprisingly easy. Turn off triple buffering and no more tearing. This post has been edited by blindbox: Mar 31 2010, 06:05 PM |
