Adjustable trim control
Li-poly 500mAh 3.7V
N50 motor x2
Main rotor: 300mm

I wanna upgrade the battery lo, wondering if u guys can help me comment pro and con...

I got some electronic knowledge so I can wire up 2 AA rechargeable batteries and tweak the voltage to about 3.7V, with Energizer batt 2x2000mAh(1.5V AA). Theoretically this should give me 8x more juice than my 3.7V 500mAh LiPo battery... right? Weight shouldn't be an issue as I tested it and it seems to be able to carry the extra few grams.

Appreciate your inputs!

I tied up 2AAA batts to it, seems fine, later tonight will try 4xAA and 2xAA. As I said, I can wire it to 3.7V, even easier if I can push it to 4.5V but I don't think that's wise hahaha...

500mAh and 850mAh like not much diff... So I'll have to turn you down lo haha... My aim is to use normal rechargeable batts instead so I can bring a battery replacement pack of maybe 10 batts and fly my heli all evening outdoor ^^

correct .. LIPO can provide powerful burst of current (A) NiMH cannot

Yea I was thinking of that too... I suppose even Energizer isn't good enough. Wonder what will happen if I buy a 11.1v LiPo at say 2000mAh, open it up and connect the cells to parallel (as I understand it all battery packs are 3.7V cells wired in a series connection to produce higher voltages) and connect them to my chopper?

then go serious, start with 6channel i think RM400 onwards to 1.5k also got

IMO you don't need to buy first if you just want to learn. You may try to buy LAMA first then get your Tx from the package, and use that Tx to learn CP heli in a simulator, that make more sense to me.

Most of us actually fly the heli in a simulator first before we really try the new move with the real heli. CP heli is fast and you have to build up your reflex with the 6ch CP heli or else you might end up with crashes. Usually a crash with 6ch CP heli need to replace feathering shaft, main shaft, blade, gear, flybar or tail boom. That would cost around RM100 for a 450 size. I am taking the BCP as a reference.

if you are really into this hobby, just buy a 4 channel one
i have already bought so many 3 channel / 3.5 channel one, all last only a few days
like the one i bought from bts few days ago, the main rotor is not turning now after i charged it, damn
before i charged it, it was still working fine, it last only 2 days, 3 times of playing><
lets say i bought 3 x 3.5 channel
1 for rm150
already cost me rm450

if i buy 4 channel one. it cost around rm200
i still have the spare rm250 for repairing
at the same time i have more fun and experience real rc
now i swear if im buying again, i will buy one which i can easily find spare part for it
so that it last me forever and much more worthy for long term

My 3.5ch is RF so won't have to worry about ambient light ^^ 40MHz though, not 2.4G but good enough la haha. All spare parts available so won't have to worry; however my model not bad can tahan crash cos I play in my living room crash dunno how many times liao still working perfectly lol... RM160 well spent so far smile.gif Now only no time to play cos so busy at work sad.gif
