i'm not really electronic savvy, but maybe you need to review the power output specs for both lipo and NiMH.

as i understands it, the reason why most electronic flyers uses lipos is because lipos provide higher power output and can withstand sudden high power draw in exchange for stability. so it can withstand the high power drain from the motors and still provide power for other stuff. normal NiMH may not be able to provide the same amount of power.

just a point for you check.  sweat.gif

correct .. LIPO can provide powerful burst of current (A) NiMH cannot

flaps as in separate flaps from the ailerons ??
if it has separate flaps .. 2 ailerons .. retracts .. then u will need at least 7 channels
in my 8FG any channel is assignable .. it depends on which radio u are using
most radios will have channel 5 for gear/retracts ... channel 6 or 7 for flaps (if your 2nd aileron uses channel 6 then flaps channels 7 and vice versa)

OMG, what happen to hobbyking for new customer?
I tried to place an order around USD100 but they said only USD75 max per order for new customer from Malaysia ......

If we use EMS then is that coming in through POS?

Yeap, flap is separated from aileron. Not sure how that works with the plane I see, it has flap system but require only 5 channels, 4 + 1 for flap.

NEW CUSTOMERS from malaysia vietnam indonesia and phillipines are limited to usd75 for their 1st few orders
EMS = POSLAJU .. so far so good for me .. takes about 3-4 days to arrived from the day they say SHIPPED

5 channels is correct ... means no retracts and only using 1 channel for ailerons (push pull style) 1 channel for throttle 1 channel for rudder and 1 more for elevator and last 1 for flaps

Aiyoiyo, like that I cant order my 1400mm wingspan rc plane already cos it is more than USD75. If that's the case I can only order 1000mm wingspan decathlon but only EMS available which is around USD31.
Hmmmm, no point to pay half of the price of my order just for postal .....

Hk list their price pretty cheap .. but when u factor in the shipping costs ... some/most planes are not worth it to bring it .. getter get it from your LHS
the things that are worth it are the electronics and batts coz those not heavy/big

u are in PG rite ??
this vendor is near u across the bridge .. this PLANE/GLIDER is suitable for u to learn and not expensive ... the only thing is u do not need the radio .. hehehe
his stuff that i bought so far very good quality for the price
mention the allan from KL who bought 3 zeros from him last week and see if he gives u more discount or not laa .. hahaha

Yea I was thinking of that too... I suppose even Energizer isn't good enough. Wonder what will happen if I buy a 11.1v LiPo at say 2000mAh, open it up and connect the cells to parallel (as I understand it all battery packs are 3.7V cells wired in a series connection to produce higher voltages) and connect them to my chopper?

Usually LiPo with that kind of rating 11.1V 2000maH is more than 100 grams and some close to 200 grams.

And parallel connection will give you 3 times of battery capacity if you try 3 cells.

typical 3S lipo 11.1v 2200mah is about 180gm
so u split that by 3 ... each 1S cell will give u about 60gm or less after removing the packaging and various connectors

Yes I think you are right. My 2000maH NIMH battery already 26gm for one battery, you would need to combine 3 to supply ~3.7v

Usually a 3S 11.1v 2200maH Lipo cost less than RM100 ..... but you need to get a Lipo charger as well ....

yup .. u will need a lipo charger
normal rechargeable chargers will not work .. if u try to attempt that then it is at your own risk ... charge it outside the house on a flower pot with wet GUNI sack standby to put out fire .. hehehehe

Better ask from mymegastation instead of fxx. I stop buying from them already for a reason.

ESky Lama V3 can find spare part easily ...... I also recommend this although I do not have one before. It was RM159.90 from mymega but as I know now it should be back order.
