QUOTE(daddoo @ Sep 24 2010, 12:06 AM) yeap walkera's ufo around 800 for RTF .... but I doubt its durability if compare to 330x. if u wanna try plane ... then try something ez to fly and ez to repair IF crashhehehehe, playing entry level plane should be quite affordable, especially the foamie but does it stable in a windy environment? get an AXN glider .. it should be around rm200+ complete with motor and ESC i think all u have to do is put in servos batt and rx or if u are abit more adventurous .. try zagi rm150 at rcsmart for kit + motor + ESC ... but i do not trust that esc coz looks super duper small like for 4g6 or something only .. hahahahaa both these are without landing gear ... means no wheels ... u land them sliding on the ground zagi is slightly harder to launch coz the place where u hold the zagi to toss it up is near prop level ... glider no chance for prop to hit your hand when u launch coz the prop is on top of the plane |

both these are reasonably stable in mild winds ... once u get better with them then they can take much higher wind levels too

since u already can do FF and F8 with heli .. chances of u crashing with the plane are much much lower compared to those who have not flown b4
planes are considered much cheaper IF u compare 1 plane vs 1 heli more plane = more helis .. still planes are cheaper .. hahahahahaa |

I can only do F8 with the tail in, we called that outer or inner?

that one is not called F8 laa ... its just hovering around .. hahahaha
4g6 is good for learning coz low chances of parts breaking ... u should take it out to the field when very little or no wind and fly more often u can only improve if u practice |

It's F8, but F8 also got 2 types as I know.
One type is when you turning, the tail is pointing in, another F8 will fly the heli nose in when we doing turning ...... At home I can only hover so usually i dun fly at home anymore. Most of the time I will fly my 4G6 outside and actually a little wind is not a problem to 4G6 ....... |

Side in now is quite ok already, nose in only ok in sim. Quite nervous when flying nose in with real heli.
Hehehehehe, I just started this hobby a few months only .... weekdays totally dont touch the heli so not counted. Only weekend!! So not long really Any comment for EPO foam? Worth to buy plane built by this material? This post has been edited by daddoo: Sep 24 2010, 08:53 PM |

Turnigy servo really so bad? I just bought one DS480 and should reach me very very soon. I've seen good comment on DS480.
But 65mg I have negative comment for it, and I am not the only one. Maybe you can take a look at those futaba S3xxx servo. This post has been edited by daddoo: Sep 25 2010, 04:41 PM |

EPO foam are good .. reliable and easily repaired
since u guys so high end already .. HITEC 5065mg .. those are the standard setting servos for 450 class .. not cheap .. rm100+ each u have to consider it is not the servos ... it might be your hands ... let someone who can roll well try your heli .. see it it behaves the same i have never liked turnigy servos .. if u want budget 9g servos which are great value for $$$ and performs well .. u can try the hxt900 .. i use them in almost all my planes |

I am so fickle again, having my eye on a large scale cessna 182 with wingspan of 1400mm. Made by EPO and the RTF package is quite affordable.
But the Tx/Rx range can go up to 1000m, which is 1km woh, is that possible? |

futaba fasst system has been tested by individuals to around 3km easily
i doubt any eyes can see that far .. hahahaha i dunno much about the RTF package with whatever radio system that comes with it .. i have a fren with that big EPO cessna but he flew it with his own futaba radio set dunno about the 2801PRO .. it should do 1km easily if it is the 100mW version but i have planes even bigger than your 1400mm cessna ... fly until about 200-300m oso almost cannot see the thing already .. hahahahaaa i checked where i fly with google map for the range |

It looks like I don't really need a RTF package since I already have to longer range Tx. Maybe I should just get the ARTF package which I need my own Rx and battery. Also I don't think I need the charger in the RTF.
Something to check with you, can we remove the wing on and off from the fuselage for those EPO cessna? If I get that I might need to consider the transportation since my car cant put in the fully assembled plane with that kind of wingspan size. |

the cessna wing can be removed as my fren remove it to transport in his car
just need to bring screwdrivers to secure the wing back when u wanna fly |

Then the flap do we need to use some tape to reinforce?
Since we need to flap up/down very frequent, would it break easily with EPO foam? |

it is taped on .. the tape can be replaced when u see it is not sticking well anymore
it has never come off in the air b4 in my experience .. it is incredibly hard to pull the tape off horizontally so u do not need to to worry the will not break off unless u cut it all u need to worry about is learning not to crash .. hehehehe |

Not so sure about plane but i found that flying a plane is much more easier than flying a helicopter, I have tried this in real flight and now I am flying fine just like a helicopter. But I only have less than an hour in sim for plane.
Kekekeke, maybe that's why people so enjoy flying plane compare to heli. |
