the smaller the heli the more sensitive is is to wind/breeze
coaxials are the same .. but they lack the power to fight the wind compared to single rotors of similar size

100-300 budget .. hmmmmmmmm
i am afraid u can only get coaxial helis RTF .. then get an ESKY lama v3/v4
it comes with a simulator cable and free simulator .. u can learn to fly on that on your PC and the included radio .. this should train u abit for single rotors .. hehehehe

How long does the esky lama v4 brush motor last? Would it be 5 days like my Syma?

would smaller helicopters be lighter and hence longer lasting motor due to lower load?

The news about RC aeroplane is up. Big news it seems.

No one inform me of my RC heli yet. I'll go KL today to get it back first. laugh.gif

Not yet. I want to get back my Syma S032 first.

I've went to collect my helicopter. One motor replaced, rotors replaced, the shaft also replaced. The helicopter is back to new.

The boss was kind enough to repair and replace the damaged parts without any charge. biggrin.gif

No charge at all. At BB plaza.

I asked if they have Esky, the only thing I see on display is Esky Belt CP. No Lama v4, sadly.

I read from some forums, they recommend putting sticky tape over the rotor to protect it from damage or shattering in an event of crash. Does it work or would it cause instability?

I just tried putting cellotape partially on all blades. Preliminary test seems fine. laugh.gif

I'm now trying to reduce weight on my helicopter. I removed weights from balancing bar. Less stable but battery lasts noticeably longer. Just experimenting. Lol..

I am deeply into this hobby. I'm flying everyday and I bring my heli to college to fly around. I also fly my friend's small RC aeroplane.

Lol. A small EP plane. Very simple and small. No brand or model named. I guess we'll just assume it as toy.

I even tried flying the heli without the fuselage. Very light, take off easily, motor sound also quieter. But very hard to control. The back is now heavier than the front. laugh.gif

Still a student. No capital to start with RM500++ heli. laugh.gif

I don't have pic of the plane.

Ya. Next time I'll try to get a pic.

I have stripped down those little tail 'decoration', which I don't think is useful. The helicopter doesn't fall back too much but is extremely light and fast. Very fun to speed around (and risking bumping into something).

But my mom said I made the helicopter ugly by stripping it down. laugh.gif

How's your heli??
*
Quite demoralising. When I bring it out to fly, my friends all want to try try. I didn't crash my heli but they crashed for me.

The aluminium body went off-shape and I had to use hammer to whack it back. The shaft seems to be bent a bit but I can't fix it. Some rotor chipping.

Guys, somehow when I hold my heli in hands and let it throttle, there's very strong vibration. Normal?
