QUOTE(sentinelking @ Mar 5 2018, 05:31 PM) I'm in this dilemma. I have been working as an product engineer in semiconductor field for almost 3 years now and wish to develop my skills in six sigma/AI in data analysis/automation in root causing/problem solving. go for mechatronics. hope your dreams come true. However, the closest master degree course i can find is either mechatronic or manufacturing. Mechatronic master still having a slight edge since i'm taking mechatronics as my bachelor deg. Just want to take in more inputs before I really proceed. |

QUOTE(kelvinkhaw01 @ Apr 30 2016, 09:58 PM) I would be grateful if anyone or if you know anyone(tag him plz) can help me regarding the career prospect and accreditation(CEng) of UK's BEng+MSc vs MEng title in Malaysia? Go for the one that gives you C.ENG.The BEng course are fully accredited by the IOM3, meaning they count towards later professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) in UK. I am currently studying BEng Material Science and Engineering and struggling to decide my pathway as I still dont have a big clear picture of the difference between this two pathway regarding the career prospect and accreditation. This is what I know below as below |

QUOTE(masternobody @ Aug 14 2016, 06:48 PM) Hello. Im currently in my 3rd year of degree in electrical engineering. I will go for my industrial training on april next year. Is there any recommendation on what type of company should I go for for the training? I am interested in power transmission and distribution, but I find it hard to search for companies that take interns for this line of work. TENAGA NASIONAL |

QUOTE(rainmankl @ Apr 16 2016, 10:44 AM) I know exactly what you meant though I am not a qualified engineer.I am qualified as a sub-professional as opposed to professional ( in UK terms). Hi, it seems like you had passed through a challenging life and moving out from your comfort zone(office) after quite some time.Eventhough you are more physically more stress than the design engineer who are more mentally stress , I think you draw a better salary , and if opportunity struck ,you can be your own boss. You had more chances to mix around people at management level and so more opportunity to do your own business if you keep your eye open. Plus you had alot of entertainment , if you get the drift. Design engineers are stiff and only talk technical\design stuff.I encounter electrical engineers(more than 3 , ie my superior) who don't know the different between workstation and desktop. I rest my case. I had 6 years in R&D work plus 12 years in system design & configuration.Of course all will include test &comm work. Now I am in project work ( 9 years now )very late in my life.I still learning terms that I may not encounter or new construction environment that I don't see while sitting 9-5 in my office previously. Don't worry , you are good.Just keep your eye open for opportunity which I had miss in my earlier life. May I know what struck you to take this decision? Anyway, I am an entry level office guy working as Mechanical Design Eng in a small company, in charge on design, assembly, troubleshooting in house or on-site if needed and a little R&D for innovation purposes. UM being the top local uni is already good enough for branding wise.Course wise, it depends on your self-initiative as you will not be spoonfed but self-study most of the time. It's the UNIVERSITY! Just remember to balance with some fun, which you will have a lot in UM(if you are active) Note: Only UM recognised/accredited by SG to be professional Engineer if you planned to be one. |

Is it advisable to take German A-Level Preparatory Programme(GAPP) at GMI after SPM, so that one can proceed to Germany for a free tertiary education in Engineering?

Hi All,
im trying to get some views or feedback to my current dilemma. So i've graduated 9 yrs ago with a degree in electronics engineering majoring in telecommunications and worked in the telco sector for a good 8 yrs plus until i've switched to oil & gas industry in mid 2017. everything has been going great since then and i've now decided to pursue my masters . i would eventually want to tap into the power generation/renewable energy sector , would it be ok if i pursue with a Masters in E&E and further choose the related elective courses, or do you reckon i should directly go for specialized courses like masters in electrical (power generation), renewal energy,etc... with so many universities and so many courses to choose from, this is definitely a tough decision to make, hence i wanted to see if i can get any views/feedback/advise from anyone here. it would be much appreciated if anyone from these related course could also advise the uni i should look at too. thank you and happy 2019! |

Hi,
A bit unrelated but I could really use the help. To all engineers here, would appreciate if you can help me by participating in my survey. Perhaps it would be beneficial for discovering more about yourself as well. Here is the link and thank you so much!!! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe...Yq_3_A/viewform |

no CGPA, pass degree but not accredited, not recognized by BEM/IEM.
Can take master degree ? BEM/IEM require me take master degree to apply. Incorporated Member of IEM boleh pakai ? Incorporated Engineer (IET) is applying now. Email to KDU and university of northumbria to get CGPA or full module/transcript but no news. |
