Hi guys.. I just bought, xbox 360 arcade jasper, lcd monitor AOC 20", and sonic gear speaker. But the problem is, when i connect the lcd with my xbox via VGA HD AV cable, the picture seem dim and a bit dark. i have set my monitor brightness to the max, and have done all the possibillity setting.. but, it seem a bit dark too.. But, when i connect the lcd to my laptop, it is not dark as i connect to xbox. Dont know what the problem.. Is it that my lcd monitor is not good enough?

Mm.. 1 more thing, the picture is a bit blur2 and not smooth.. the colour that produce from the lcd is a bit harsh. Is it because of my lcd monitor or the 3rd party VGA HD AV cable ya?thx.. |

VGA cable could be a factor too, but try all the setting that you are comfort first and see how it goes... if not you sure try digital signal.. like purchasing a HDMI-dvi cable while using your xbox 360.. But another hand, you need the audio cable as well.http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/aoc-2...g=mncolBtm;rnav Hope u guys can help me.. |

just check your xbox display setting, whether can support your LCD monitor to 720p or better 1080p or not. don't just leave it a optimum setting because if you choose the optimum display is will shown pc connection even if you connect to a LCD TV. in a way, xbox is a bit stupid than ps3. lol.
Added on February 1, 2010, 11:58 amsorry missout the cable portion........and first of all....under normal circumstances Dynamic Contrast do not affect much because normal the contrast we use to the max is 3000 only. all the Dynamic contrast is just for marketing purpose. try this. You's is samsung right? check your monitor setting or press the auto. if auto setting still dim then disable the auto setting and go ahead with the manual setting. else go to a doctor and check your eye...lol (just kidding). a very high possiblity is the vga cable. Alot of 3rd party cable that i know uses component decode (vga decoded harder to reverse engineer i guess?) then convert to vga port,. causing washout color and dim images.
i m using AOC lcd and i dont have any problem like the one u described. Try not to buy cheap cable. i got my ori for 60. 720p and 1080p dont make much difference in gaming, most of the game run at 720p. This post has been edited by y3ivan: Feb 1 2010, 01:26 PM |
