I need some opinion on this two laptop before choosing which one to buy.

Toshiba L510-S4318B
Processor: i3-330M
RAM: 2GB DDR3
HDisk: 500GB
Monitor: 14.1"
Graphic: ATI HD 5145 (512MB)
OS: Windows 7
Price: ~ RM2 ,899

A52JR-SX140V
Processor: i3-350M
RAM: 2GB DDR3
HDisk: 500GB
Monitor: 15.6" HD
Graphic: ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470
OS: Windows 7
Price: ~ RM2 ,699

Basically I want to use this laptop to do web designing and some programming. And maybe to play a few games like fifa or PES.

they have the same spec, with a52jr win a bit on cpu side, gpu wise, they are the same~
depends whether you want 14'' or 15''
if size doesn't matter, take the A52JR-SX140V

ic.. in terms of quality & usability, which one u think is more reliable?

I must say Asus, since it provide 2 years international warranty by default.
though, the older model of toshiba l510 user's seems satisfied also.

Quality & usability both are the same...now the question lies in you whether to take a 14" or 15"...but i vote for Asus A52jr ..not saying Toshiba is not good..but a bigger screen size would suits you

A52JR-SX140V , should be a better choice but Toshiba's warranty service really counts when you're going overseas. Its your choice.

A52JR-SX140V wins , as it has a better graphics card and a larger screen

Thanks for your opinion guys.. since ASUS have a bigger screen while both performance are quite equal, i think i've made my mind already. I'll go for ASUS, since the price is better.

err.. mind telling me where u get this asus model? i'm thinking about getting 1 too.

I dun think any Asus authorized dealer/seller would have this model in-hands/stocks but some might be imported...well, no worries about warranty as it stated for 2 years International Warranty, so can claim wherever got Asus SC

there's also HD5165 which is a renamed HD4670...

Later i'll give some review... so far i'm satisfied with the performance, can play a decent game without any problem. The battery life you know lar.. a power eater

hei, i wanna ask about this 2 asus model,
one is asus U80V
and Asus a52Jr
i know the spec of a52jr is de best la..but the u80v prettier, the key pad, and design etc..
the Toshiba L510-S4318B totally not pretty lo, like Acer design, but the person buy for me prefer this toshiba model..haiz..

i am always multi tasking and i have do graphic as well, but i hope can get lighter laptop,quite heavy to bring here and there..haiz..

argh!!!!!i really duno which 1 i shud choose...so which one i shud take among this 3 model?or got other good recommend??

Well, those three are capable to do what you need.
If weight is a concern, consider U80V, though it might be the weakest among those three, cpu and gpu wise.

but the processor of a52jr better and advance,500G hardisk..what is the weight of u80v and a52jr, coz i cant get? is it big diff?now this 3 model is same price...haiz..headache, if u were me , which 1 u choose?

U80V is 2.1kg and since A52JR is 15'', it should weight around 2.7kg
As I said before, if weight is a concern, then you need to compromise in performance.
Performance wise, the A52JR and the Toshiba doesn't differ much, only extra 0.1ghz on A52jr.

Maybe you can look for A42jr... same spec with a52jr except its 14"

haiz..like that la..haiz..headache...2.7kg heavy yor...
but the spec very good..very attract me..de price so cheap rm2799 for new laptop with high spec...if u were me, u will chosee a52jr rite?

If its were me, I'll only consider 14'' and below, 15'' and above too big for my liking
You can consider A42JR as said by peraduanku, its the same spec/price as A52JR except its 14''

Well, depends on people taste, some prefer bigger screen or number pad, some prefer smaller screen

haa, actually, im still in dilemma whether to get a42jr or a52jr. because, both have the same price, if i get 15" it would feel like i think its too big, but if i take 14", feels like 'rugi' something. lolx

Well, they both have the same resolution, just that the other one is bigger screen.

spec is not same, A = i3, K = i5.
look and feel im not sure.

The spec might be same but the design is different. You can compare the design finish between my pictures with K52jr model

yes , is chiclet style...but nt so solid as sony voir lo..lose bit..but its weight, acceptable,feel lighter..design better then Toshiba...wont look so thick..
the seller sumore say he prefer 15" A52JR, but is too big if take A52JR.imagine when u want show something such as presentation tocustomer or what, take out de big big laptop..wow..

iinm, A-series comes with i3, on the other hand which is K-series, comes with i5.

I've seen A42JR equipped with i5 but not in Malaysia though

I think the model that has i5 processor is K52jr/K42jr not the A42jr/A52jr

The Asustek website got the spec with i5 A42JR but can't find any shop that supply them. Check it out 0.o

guys may i ask d same question as i saw earlier.. i read on the asus website it stated that A42JR do have i5 version.. but when i went to lowyat today, even d i3 is out of stock..so do really i5 existed first place? if it does, how much d cost would be?

those ar ethe specs online.. not all the specs are ordered by the shops in lowyat.. the most i think available is the one wth core i3 proc.. but who knows maybe in the new future the shops in lowyat will bring those models that comes with the i5 procs.

i just bought the a52jr from lowyat yesterday.. plan to go for the A42jr but no stock available and there's only on shop got the model but they sell for 2999.. so far im impressed with my laptop because i do realize now that i need the large screen to surf the net and do my everyday job..

the graphic card is performing good and the heat dissipation is very low.. so much different with my already 'kong' joybook s41.. the multitouch pad is very convenience also.. and note that a52jr comes with keyboard with numpad.. almost like a full scale keyboard..
