QUOTE(alinjr @ Feb 4 2010, 12:04 AM) Hai..i just need some advice or recommendation or anything that can help me..i cannot choose rather HP Probook 4410s or Lenovo ThinkPad SL400.. both ur choices are quite business usage...please don't offer any laptops because i just focus on those two.. HP Probook because its HP and the specs is good but 1 day a guy from a shop show me this ThinkPad SL400 durability..so i don't know which one i wanted..so i hope u guys can help me... i am an average user..wanted ram 3gb and above..hdd around 250gb and above..windows 7..and i also don't know whether matte or glossy screen is which more is good. Thank u so much helping me... as a average user, what do you use a laptop for? do you use it a lot while you traveling, meeting clients etc? Added on February 4, 2010, 12:08 am QUOTE(ajercrazy @ Feb 3 2010, 11:32 PM) compac cq40-627tu (rm1599) acer 4736(rm1599),inspiron 1440 RM1499 can provide the spec?which one is better..in term of performance.. it would be easier for people to comment if the specs are included.. Added on February 4, 2010, 12:09 am QUOTE(devil94 @ Feb 3 2010, 07:59 PM) it is an OK brandin taiwan they are quite famous and iirc, MSI is actually a OEM for laptop parts..need pro to comment about this This post has been edited by wanttobuylaptop: Feb 4 2010, 12:09 AM |

QUOTE(alinjr @ Feb 4 2010, 12:13 AM) yes..traveling and meeting clients..showing project and videos and also using some for work also.. ur budget?yup..searching for business usage...using photoshop cs3 also sometimes..any recommendation? at first thinking to take HP but after looking the guy smashing here and there, put some water and shake here and there i got excited.. mmm...i would give u a comment that is a bit away from technical talk.. since you are using it to meet client, i guess the design of the laptop would be a factor to consider~ yes thinkpad is good, is durable, engineered to take pressure but other like dell adamo and hp probook might give you another edge, as design wise is quite...i must say, eyes catcher spec wise for both laptops you listed i cannot get a definite answer both are customizable so ur question is really lies at, what design suit you the most? |

@ajercrazy
i pretty much agree on monza's comment but if Acer price is no higher than dell by 100 or 200 u may instead want to try out both before you decide Acer comes with win 7 hp while dell is basic plus Acer has HDMI and integrated webcam i would say is about ur brand & design & usage preference when coming down to Dell and Acer~ |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Feb 4 2010, 09:17 AM) anyone knows buy laptop from Sen Heng using RHB plusOne credit card can get extra 2 years warranty on top of the default warranty year? the extra warranty is covered by sen heng most probably..it is so-called retailer warranty in the foreign countries erm...it is subjective, but i would prefer brand's warranty more... @ajercrazy you are most welcome you cannot go wrong with either one, and Dell is really worth the buck i would most probably buy the same one for my sister also |

QUOTE(brian3455 @ Feb 4 2010, 03:43 PM) dear sifu's, if u are refering to laptop, we need spec for the whole laptop to comment wor..i am contemplating to get Core-Duo or Core-2-Duo. whether it worth the money (+/- RM600) to get C2D. is the different that significant for one to spend extra RM600 for C2D? btw, my usage is mostly internet surfing, and occasionally Photoshop CS4 because I am a photography hobbyist. your advice is very much appreciated if u are mentioning hardware... generally c2d is the mainstream... |

QUOTE(wztech @ Mar 22 2010, 05:34 PM) looking for gaming laptop as well..budget < 3.5k... one thing about lenovo...it does not really drop price...as far as i see la...considering vostro 3700 but the screen kinda to big for mobility and is it hard to find a bag for laptop that big? and the lenovo y460...the price is currently rm3599 rite? when can i expect the price to decrease? pc fair? and how about laptop with hd5470? is it enuff? will play CODMW2,l4d2,dawn of war II,red alert 3,etc..etc... in fact not many brand drop price unless it is really EOL... for the games you listed, 5470 should run fine in decent setting... Added on March 22, 2010, 5:38 pm QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Mar 22 2010, 03:52 PM) If gaming, Dell Vostro 3700, 17.3'', i5 430M + Nvidia GT 330M@RM2849 wa...that is about 700 different in price...or Lenovo Y460, 14'', i5 430M + ATi HD5650@RM3599... i would vote for vostro for ard 3k...
