Hi, my wife want me to buy a new notebook for her school work. Any suggestion? I'm not familiar with notebook and she want light notebook that cost below RM2k (cheaper is better). Probably 14" screen from dell or any other good notebook brand but not a netbook (no atom processor please).
Mostly for (from most to less): 1.Microsoft office 2.Internet (email, facebook etc.) 3.Image editing 4.TV series
Already doing some searching and reading from internet but don't know how to pick. Hopefully can find one that can last at least 3 years.
TQ.

What brand I should search for. I see a lot of people usually student bought Acer because of the cheap price but when I ask our comp technician, he don't recommend Acer or compaq. He said not so good customer service and also hardware compatibility.
Anyway, will consider Acer 4810TZ but currently more to dell 14.

Guys, after a few reading, I think I want to buy Dell™ Vostro™ 3400. Is this a good model. Currently I'm using Acer 4740 borrowed from office and find it suit my need. But because I'm familiar with Dell laptop specially in vostro series, so I think this is the best model for me. My concern is about the 1-year warranty because I planned to use this laptop more than that but currently no money to add the warranty period.
If after 6 months or 1 year of use, can I add the warranty period? How upgrade processor or ram for Dell laptop?
