Used laptops..maybe you can find better luck in Garage Sales there..usually with your budget, only Netbook is available but for Notebook (like you stated want used one)..Garage Sales would be a better searching place

QUOTE(LokiD.d.G @ Feb 2 2010, 01:33 PM) IMO gaming on a 11.6" monitor is going to be one hell of a strain on your eyes. In short, I find the M11x an utterly ridiculous sales gimmick of sorts. Agree with Loki..yes, 4k (well maybe but seems like true) for a 11.6" laptop for gaming, well i got to say not all people would like it, no If it retails for RM3k and below, then I might have to reconsider... but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Added on February 2, 2010, 1:56 pm QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Feb 2 2010, 01:52 PM) Well, can't really say so, depends back to how the user take care of it and his/her luck. +1, some say Acer is But for sure, Dell's warranty is nice, but expensive. QUOTE(kon00 @ Feb 2 2010, 02:36 PM) ive heard that asus is more reliable than acer? is it true? i wouldnt mind adding another RM200 if its worth it. Well, with Asus you get automatic 2 years warranty while Acer need to topup a bit to extend the warranty...well, for me both are reliable btw, i tried googling specs for asus, couldnt find any in english. >< Added on February 2, 2010, 2:39 pmI would recommend you to take Asus A42jr/52jr instead...like lee said, much better value than Acer 4740G This post has been edited by monza84: Feb 2 2010, 02:42 PM |

QUOTE(livinzo @ Feb 3 2010, 02:31 AM) dilemma here guys, Both at different level of price...well, seems to me that your budget is quite large (assuming from Macbook RM3699)..im torn between the new macbook white rm3699 and acer 5740G rm 2999 i do alot of photoshop, lightroom, elements work reason for macbook white: better build, multitouch, prefer the os, BETTER battery life!!, nice LED display and good UI, and alot people say photographer all use mac but acer offers a good deal, core i5, nice gpu, 4gb, windows 7 which i dont mind trying out, more hdd capacity, more usb ports, bigger screen, cheaper so what would you guys reccomend? any other models? my budget is 3 - 3.6k range. thanks remember, i do alot of photoshop, lightroom and multitasking work. Well, from what you do i guess better of getting Macbook as Macbook is quite good when comes to graphic processing Added on February 3, 2010, 7:06 am QUOTE(ajercrazy @ Feb 3 2010, 05:48 AM) Performance for this spec would be:*Just for working purpose, light flash/FB games is considerably ok, battery life around 3~4 hours... Added on February 3, 2010, 7:08 am QUOTE(gs20 @ Feb 3 2010, 12:10 AM) Is it possible to fully custom made a laptop? Maybe you can tell us your budget My requirement: - a decent CPU (dual core above) - 4gb RAM Remark: - I don't need an OS - I don't mind a 20gb HDD if it's the cheapest - Build-in crappy graphic processor will do - Any sort of display will do as long as can see - Any other lauzy spec will do Where can I get such laptop? @ajercrazy
From the list of laptops that you just posted, i think it would be best for you to take Dell Inspiron 14, which is by means a bit better than Acer 4736 & CQ40 Well, from spec-wise it would be : Aspire 4736=Inspiron 14 > CQ40 |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Feb 4 2010, 10:43 AM) but also worth ma since if anything happens during the period, sen heng will cover it instead of we pay extra 200+ to get extra 2 years from manufacturers. Well, true because SH would cover all the cost for you, but please be sure what actually SH will include in the warranty... |
