the extra warranty is covered by sen heng most probably..
it is so-called retailer warranty in the foreign countries
erm...it is subjective, but i would prefer brand's warranty more...
but also worth ma since if anything happens during the period, sen heng will cover it instead of we pay extra 200+ to get extra 2 years from manufacturers.

Dell Inspiron 14, i3 330M + GMA HD@rm2299, it has the new intel cpu and gma, though smaller hdd.

Hardly to get RM2199 from Dell with 3 years warranty. I like Dell has they have on site warranty support and you need to bring it to HP if warranty is needed.

Dell 13z or 14z is my choice but if with 3 years warranty, it is more than RM2500+.

I use it for normal office tasks and not for gaming/entertainment... Of course surfing, PDF, Ms Office, IM etc are needed.

The Dell Inspiron nod.gif
Performance wise, should be unnoticeable for office work...
Though you might want to upgrade the windows to at least home premium if you want aero effect, e.g. some transparency on the taskbar and window...

Now I am in dell 13 customiisation page for T6600 processor, with 3 years warranty added, Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit (English)

Well, the Dell inspiron 13 doesn't have dvd drive. So it depends on you whether you need dvd drive or not.

As for basic colour inside, both of them are pretty similar, gray palmrest and black keyboard. Difference in lid design and colour.

hah, no dvd drive ah... didn't notice....which one de LCD, I mean the screen quality is more better?

may be needed to buy external optical rom.. if plus the cost of external optical drive, the price might be same as HP one.

The dell inspiron 13 vs HP CQ35?
Should be similar since they have the same spec, even if its using T4400, shouldn't be that far off for normal office usage...
*
may be future will be using on more high process tasks leh. hehe

dell 13 has no option to upgrade to 9 cells

Intended to cancel the order since noted this overheat issue http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1338843

Wonder it is because of unit problem or this model.

May consider Dell 13.

Current consideration:

Dell Vs Compaq

In house warranty Vs DVD ROM
More light Vs Dedicated display card
Better support Vs 500 GB HDD 7200rpm

Which one you will consider?

Processor Intel® Celeron® Processor 900,2.2Ghz, 800Mhz, 1M L2 Cache

the processor is better/faster than Intel Atom?

currently using HP mini (not the latest atom N280),, is only N270 and noted that when in surfing using firefox, when too many caches, the system slows down and need to close ff n clear the caches, then only ok back.
