FYI:
All Vios Model is assembled in MALAYSIA. DOES it mean, it should be cheaper?? (Me no idea)



Toyota Vios J


Problem Description:
Leaking from the roof and the water from the roof will flow down and pass the console box and then the end point will be the end of the foot carpet.

Leaking....the water is all there. The Smell..... i really can not stay on it. It really make me Frustrated rclxlh.gif


Delivered on 24 August 2009

Used 2 week.... leaking from the roof..... vmad.gif

Buy a new car get a leakage car.... if you say it is manufacturer defect, then fine. shakehead.gif




repaired the roof leaking problem.. smile.gif



after that the tinted issue come again which the tinted is not well placed on the windscreen and wanna find out which one is scratch whether tinted or the screen itself. At last changed tint it is tinted issue.



After 3 months later ,the leaking problem come back again. mad.gif



Really DAMN angry...........

Meet with this Assistant Manager,

very funny thing is he compare the house and a car. WTH..... is he stupid? comparison does not make sense... one is properties one is liabilities.

Then the Assistan Manager say will get back to me by this week which mean the last day is on this friday (29-01-2010)


i just dont know what should i do now and i really dont want this car problem to be persist and the TOYOTA only can assure to fix... but BEAR IN MIND , I BOUGHT THE CAR IS NOT FOR THEM TO RETIFY THE CAR PROBLEM.


Therefore, Guys, what would you think i can do now beside complaint to TOYOTA? i can feel that they dont really take very serious on my case due to my amout is small to them. But i stand on my consumer right, i really not Satisfy with so call as "NEW & QUALITY CAR" they given.

01 - Feb - 2010

So the Senior Manager call me and said we will raise it for you to top management to request a car for you base on my current situation but can not guarantee you will get the new car.

Sound like it repeated as what the AM mentioned earlier. Then he added from time being he will get the HQ people to come in to Cheras TSC to involve the troubleshooting and rectifying this case.

they need to get the roof of the cause by then he can raised this request to the top management. IS that true ?




02- Feb - 2010

The temporary car had given to me and my car had been taken by the technician from cheras TSC.

Also found that my front bottom bumber was scratch which is i not aware because it is at underneath. i wonder is the TSC mistaken or wat. haiz.........


coz base on my caring manner of driving whenever there is a bumber on the road i will slow down and for sure it wont get scratch in such a slow speed..

if it scratched i sure will know there is a sound of scratching. Damn.

Better carefull while you send your car to other SC better check up ur screen and bottom of bumber.

Right now i cant say anything coz i really got nothing to and worst thing i just realize the thing scratch at my bottom. really damn

I wonder what will be the next outcome.
Initially i though they will call me for meeting to attend at the HQ sham alam. it was really beyond my expectation.
The senior manager just call and get the car. i wonder once get fix are they keep quiet or still follow up for my case.

I will wait and see.

the manager is wrong to not take this seriously, even though it is a low end car of their range , they still need to keep up the brand image of good service and reliability. like this the owner get angry and come to car forum and bad mouth the company, some people that are planing to buy a VIOS may now be having negative impression of the company.

word of mouth if a very effective way to promote a product, if they have given good service to TS, he may be here praising toyota quality and recommeding it to all friends and family. instead now the TS will be doing the opposite.

Tint issue? Is that the 'Toyota Tint' or '3rd party tint'? If it is not 'Toyota tint' then it is obvious they ignore you for that.

And for the leakage, demand a replacement and then if possible, post it to newspaper and popular sites.

You can also try NCCC but I doubt they would do anything about it.



p/s: Remember to get the name of the manager or anyone that you had attended to, and CC to the Japanese superior. Not only Toyota is like that, Nissan, Honda... as long as in Malaysia everything regarding customer service goes bad.

Wow... Proton got problem, then fark s2pid Proton. Toyota got problem, then say those s2pid boleh land people who lead Toyota.. Then shud I say this is the "boleh mentality" here? biggrin.gif doh.gif Actually any car u buy also depend on your luck. All the car manufacturer also will have defect product, just the matter of the frequency & how the person in charge handle your case. I feel sorry for TS cos of the problem he facing. Try go keep on calling the HQ manager or who got the authority until get your car fix. No use blaming anymore since u had bought the car with problem, the only thing u can do is get the problem fix.

I not dare for them to retify. Once they rectify.. the problem fix... and they no guarantee it is fixed.

what if it come back one year later ?

I am the one trouble and by the time u no excuse to say anything already.

Current condition still new and only 5 months. The longer time, the worst situation i get

TS try keep calling everyday to Toyota until somebody can get your problem fix.... I does not mean u deserve a defected car, but its really bad luck for u to get a defected car... The fact is u already sign the agreement of the defected car, u cant reject the car like buying any other product. So what I mean, u must go & bising them until u get your problem fix. Sometime, u need to bising more so more people will come to attention of your problem. At least u pay it, but got problem, but they can settle the problem for you & not say small issue.. flex.gif

but what i concern is, one the problem fix, after a couple of months, or a year it come back again. Then how ? go approach them to fix for me again??

They only say assurance to be fix.... but not guarantee the problem can be resolved.

Once again... i pay for "NEW & QUALITY" car not leakage car and also not pay for them to rectify my CAR problem.

I not dare to let them fix the problem? End up the UNFAIR person is me. cry.gif


Perhaps you really kind enough for the to fix second time. One time for me i already scared yet it is new car.


Frankly speaking, I rather not to use that car if i got choice. . They should know what to do IF they care about their reputation.

Thats y i say it is bad luck for u to get that car... Try ask for extend warranty for this issue when u get it fix... Make sure do it in black & white for your own assurance if possible. Or come to worse, change car if u affordable.

ya.. what i an do is...

juz to make it big...that's simple. i believe all of use want things new but not leaking car and also if the defect is about hong or minor things fine..
but it about leaking.... and it fixed for once.. now second... really really angry..

Write to Malay Mail hotline and let their people contact Toyota. They will sort of put your story for the rest of the readers to know and if toyota doesn't follow up, then of course you will know what kind of customer service they give.

I even heard got 1 people complain her RAV4 about engine problem... Every car manufacturer also got chance defect, cos it done by human being, no surprise lo... biggrin.gif

Troll or no troll,feel sad if you receive a new car with this kind of problem.

Feels so frustrated that you pay almost RM70k and have to pay with your arse for the next 9 years but still endure such crap.

If you are in US,the manager will be the first to fly kite and mind you,they have alot of consumer protection law involving this so the company has no way to get out of it.

Nope.

I go to the nearest branch.

SHAM alam HQ i go for complaint.


Done for once. It come back again.

Now i also don't know what to do. if they fix the issue then future got problem i go and c HQ SC again?

they only assurance to fix my issue. As i say, i bought a car not for TOYOTA to check or rectify the problem leakage but is for my usage.


I not looking for trouble i just be reasonable. They cant give me satisfy answer. mad.gif


i believed the nearest branch of the Service center is in trouble coz i get fixed from there SC and now i complaint to HQ i wonder are they dare to accept the same problem that they fixed earlier from the first time?

once it fixed but if it come back again then i guess the branch can close already.

i suspect that branch also found uneasy on it.



Before i go complaint to HQ Sham alam, I inform the Cheras SC but no response and it seem to be scare or forgot or busy i not sure.

Anyway,
what i can do is if they no take seriously on it and give me the desire answer the news will spread from mouth to mouth or through internet or maybe newspaper or magazines...that is my last resort.

Well i heard that a forumer say before Shah Alam HQ got japan Engineer In charge in there for Big issue case.

So going there might giving urself better chance to Fix the problem properly.

I hope ur problem just can be fix cause i i believe it might be a place there no seal properly and there was unable to find it out only. Such leaking case is really trouble some cause it is really hard to find the spot that is causing Leak... Hope there can fix it for u. (I bet Cheras SC only replace the Rubber only that why ur problem coming back after sometimes)

They should take seriously on it.

if they think of saving and no necessary to change for other parts then is thier QC problem.


my side here i just wanna get what i want.

Pay for new, use for new But not problem car.

ok lets make it clear...

1 - I do not think urs leaking is roof leaking... is more into the Windscreen leaking...
2 - Y??? i say that coz if roof leaking ur whole car top interior will have water mark... and now it is only the carpet that is wet... BTW water will not flow to ur pillars from the roof only the windsreen part... so it is more onto windscreen problem..

send email to toyota HQ or go there and shout!!! i f*** their SC ppl b4 i don care but i wan what i should get...

Totally agreed... This what I always call "The boleh mentality". Actually a lot Proton basher that don't understand a lot of issues not in control of Proton it self, its control by our gov... As simple as, if u are a boss, do u do something to cut budget for your company? biggrin.gif

From the TSC stated is windscreen water leaking.
But when the things happened i can see the roofing get wet first.
From very beginning i though it is roofing only get wet but slowing found hour footrise also got water and touch on the console box a the back the carpet also get wet.

"Walao" .. .where can no angry for a new car like that. if i was the other person, i guess they will not going to get them fixed but ask for new. But i am too kind.. to let them fix once... and not ... come back the issue from the roofing got wet and can see on the gear box got water on the surface.

......really speechless... vmad.gif

actualyl very easy ask them to take the windscreen off and replace the rubbers and glue for it... done... my fren have this problem with perodua also but then problem is the gluing problem more to labour cause...

ask them to do it la... if not wack them hard... where is the leakage point ask them and show it to u... use water hose to show the car top then see where is the leaking point...
if everything u depend on them, u will not solve it fast...
i say that from my experience with mechanics, they taught me that...

Basically i dont want the car to be fix because i dont know what will happen next.

eventhough fix the car, i also feel not happy about it.

Most probably it's just the seal at the windscreen. Where else can the water gets into the car?

With common sense, we all know that its related to the seals if there is no defect on the installation of the roof and roffliner. But it seems like TS has indeed let UMW fixed that problem once and this is the second time. Which renders TS feeling not secure and no confidence to the service provided. If changing a new car is not possible then try ask for extended warranty. Thats the best they could offer i think, or try file a complaint with NCCC and related medias. Mayb by then they will consider replacing a new one.

Basically you ideas i think before.


But i stand on my consumer right and if their answer not satify me spreading the news to the related media is the last resort.


but now going to email to TOYOTA ceo, see what is his action on it.

within 2 days no reply i will do what i can to make it as big as possible. icon_rolleyes.gif

Personally of the HOD from complaint Department, they propose as below:

options 1: Trade in the car.

i keep argue with him, that's my car leakage and the faulty is on your side and why i need to trade in?

He replied that the car for thier testing from the SHam Alam HQ can not find the leakage. So that mean it is no a leakage car. (They can judge such a manner ?)

So he added, it is fair enough for both party to bear the cost to trade in the car and the losses both party take 50% of losses. Exmaple 10k then each of us 5k.

*** Raftly i need to top up 7k for my side to get a new car, in the name of "trade in" due to they cant find the leakage from the roof. (i just use about 5moths yet i need trade in the car ? sound crazy...)

Options 2:

I took back the car and with 2 years service including the black oil and labor cost all are free.

Then i asked again if there is a leakage then i come back again to complaint. ( like that also can ?)



My own opinion::

i told the person the car got leakage and now they cant find the leakage issue is that mean can conclude as no problem ? i dont think so because i got photos and witness during the day happened.

other than that, the guy also told me if they wanna to hard about this case, they can ignore me and ask me to go back to service center and repaired till it fixed which base on the agreement. (is that true?)




The 2 options that he gave sound like i must choose the 2nd options.
Guys, mind to share your experience or your advise ? I hope i got another options 3.
