HDMI vs Component cable for video

Hi all, seeing that we have so many beyond-ers nowadays, can you guys clarify if component cable will give better picture quality for SD channel compared to HDMI cable?

I do not have a component cable with me at the moment, if it really will improve the PQ (similar to S video cable for old decoder) that i want to purchase one tomorrow.

After an off-season full of drama, Formula 1 is back this weekend with the Bahrain GP. STAR Sports will broadcast more than 600 hours of F1 content in 2010 including pre and post-race shows Race Day and Chequered Flag hosted by Paula Malai Ali and Steve Dawson. F1 in HD is DISASTER. immediately i swith to 813 star sports.

in ESPN HD, the car look like a thick box, and the picture is not HD!!!! damn astro, was lookin forward for F1 in real quality HD all weekend.

i think we can really SUE them, as they stated in the website that Astro offering F1 in HD, and we are not getting HD

until now no solution yet. i dont think they take this seriously due to the monopoly. i'm sure they will wait till monday, then only have meeting and decide further.....best case

anyway, really cannot tahan watching the F1 in HD, this kind of quality also dare to show to customer....f***

I was able to upgrade the software version by pressing the power, up then down button in sequence last time. it will boot up auto search for update.

But when i try it again past few days to upgrade to latest version. it just dont upgrade. still at Dec 2009 version.

can anybody advice me? thanks.
