Guys, do you think most BDs sell by Speedy are considered "inferior" compare to those "imported" BD from Amazon?

Although some of BDs from Speedy do not have "imported" tag but I think they still source these BD from US rite??

So, if a BD is from HK does it mean its quality will not be comparable to US version? Afterall, it does offer loseless audio rite??

Just finished watching David Foster concert. This is the 1st time watching blu concert & one word to describe AWESOME.

I have mkv version with dts surround format but never thought that lossless audio can generates so much involving effect in concert. And never thought that my system can sound so lively with music flowing out of speaker box. soundstage is huge & bass is tight too in comparison with its core format.

I wonder how far bluray concerts can showcase in Chris Botti & Tsai Chin Live in HK. My next wanted list.

Are you gonna let it go as pre-owned title? brows.gif

You mean my MKV files.... icon_idea.gif (it still encoded with dts surround)

David Foster bluray is a must for collection. I think Speedy still has stock, go grab it.

Should I need it later I sure will PM ONE of you biggrin.gif At the moment I just ordered Chris Botti & Tsai Chin Live in HK.
I guess Tsai Chin is a must owned concert as it has DTS-Master 5.1 & LCPM audio 5.1 shocking.gif .....which you can benchmark the 2 greatest audio mixed in the same disc!

I keep listening to "被遗忘的时光" these few days.

Yeah, her vocals was awesome and make my system stand out even playing in mkv, dts format.

I can't wait my BD to arrive to test it out. I experienced before using its LPCM 5.1 is better than DTS-master 5.1.

How does it sound to you??

I whack DTS-MA 5.1 straight as preferred audio output.
I am not a Tsai Chin fan but it sounds good to me, it's more for my parents in law. laugh.gif

Just checked Tsai Chin got DTS-MA 6.1.
This is something that personally I don't like.
The mixing of DTS MA + ES make the back stage sound weird in 7.1.

So far the best HK concert vocal I have, it's from Hins Cheung live in GZ.
It got DTS-MA 7.1, making the staging sound very full.

Oh yea, Hins Cheung's unplugged version. Do you have extra copy of the BD to let go? Or, anyone selling it? nod.gif

Anyone appreciate chinese old song should listen to TSAI CHIN Live in HK. The rich vocal of the singer is always become audiophiles demo disc & this Bluray by means is no exception.

The BD is encoded with Uncompressed PCM5.1 & DTS Master 6.1. Tested both track and felt the singer's vocal is more appealing in PCM codec. Looking at PCM, it is mixed at 16bit/48k compare to DTS-M 24bit/96k. The later has double bitrate of PCM but still not as outstanding as PCM. I guess it is more of the recording process at the concert hall.

Anyway, it is truly a masterpiece recording rclxms.gif

BD for concerts are all about AQ.

I agreed. I don't mind the video transfer not perfect but good Audio mix is a must in bluray concert.
