solaris, how come not many ppl choose tis ar? it has super duper tight security (the kerberos system) that if u wanna shut down the system, it ask for NINE different confirmation whether u really wanna shut down the system. let alone all file execution and stuff... (yes i know, u need SPARC cpu to run it, but heck, my fren running solaris on his amd.)

Yes, you can install Solaris 10 on a P4. I've done it before. It supports SATA as well, in case anyone's wondering.

Solaris 8 & 9 license quite affordable. CD costs around RM400, IIRC.

i would say it's more of a good cop, bad cop situation. the bad cop antagonizes the offender of his mistakes. he'll get spanked for it so next time, he'll piss in his pants if he ever thinks about it. the good cop comes in all gentlemanly/womanly, gives a soft kiss on the cheek, you'll stay here be a good boy/girl ok?
of course the good cop has to be of the opposite sex. /melike This post has been edited by ihsan: Mar 20 2005, 08:40 PM |

i can't decide.
for my work and all, WinXP is no doubt the best cos i need it to do my work. games as well. but in my mind, i always favour the linux distros more than Windows. |

solaris 10 can dl free from sun system web site. i just got he dvd and cd version of solaris 10. if i got chance to install it this few weeks then i will share more with u guys.
i like BSD system for their simplicity and stability and security. i really encourage linux user to try on any bsd system, u will find out that it is actually much easier for newbie. just my opinion:P |
