I shipped my car fr. KL to KK. I used AST shipping co. It took 14 days fr. KL - KK. Cost me RM 1700.

Procedure:
- if still under loan. Needs permission(release to ship) letter fr. the bank
- car's title (grant)
- custom's export form
- shipping insurance form.

Then after the car has delivered, bef. renewing roadtax, need to
- bring the car to Puspakom for inspection
- go to JPJ to get new roadtax

This is because the roadtax and insurance in east malaysia is cheaper than west malaysia.

Hi,
I have shipped my car from KL to Miri before. I used Subali Pack. They provided extremely good door-to-door service with excellent skills. My car was placed in a container to avoid salty sea water and sea wind. It is also being insured throughout the whole journey. They have professional workers to deliver the car in safely manner and the customs clearance was also well taken care off. They will keep close contact with you and inform you when your car has arrived and they will delivered your car based on your availability.

The price is very reasonable and it is market average price. They are so far the best shipping company as I also moved some bulk items and household appliances using their services. I have few bad experiences with other companies. This is my recommendation. Action speaks for itself.

Please PM me if you are interested as I know the person in-charge since I have used their services for a quite number of time. I can link you to them easily. Thanks. =)

I would also like to know what are the companies anyone has used to ship a car from Kuching to KL? or is it better to go to the vendor?

i'd just like to know the rates and the companies that you have experience with in case I decide to bring my car over. Someone has mentioned shipping TO KL, and apparently the rates are different?

Does it matter what kind of car you are shipping?

Any information that helps is very much welcome, thanks smile.gif

IINM if the car has been bought for certain years (5 or 7) no need to pay import tax.

Can ask LTZ help also through the navy transport service. Heard it's much cheaper or even free and not subject to inspection by customs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just remember 1 thing, CLEAR ALL YOUR STUFF FROM THE CAR.

My brother send his car to Miri also, when reach all things inside the car gone.

Of cause no people will leave gadget or expensive stuff inside the car, but what left inside the car was, sun glasses, cd, his child's toys, smart tag. Erm, basically all gone. Clean and clear. lol
