just wondering, coz i'm still a bit blur on the hacking thingy..i have hacked mine, and have yet to update to v40, so if i just updated it directly without hard resetting, would the hacks stay?

my question is as follows:

1) if i hacked it in v30 and upgraded to v40, without hard resetting, hacks stay?
2) if i hacked it in v30 and upgraded to v40, hard resetted it after that, hacks gone?
3) if i hacked it in v30, hard reset it b4 upgrading, hacks gone right?
