Hi i'm actually buying an Ipod from ebay.. New in box and wondering if clearing custom will be a problem here.

I heard Iphone will be charged tax and need SIRIM license or something that is like crazy RM200+

But I also heard of methods like declaring it as a gift with value lower than RM500 will do the trick. But I'm really worried if Ipod as an electronic will need the dumb SIRIM license? how do I get about this? anyone had any experience?

Thanks.

ok, so it means most probably I'll get taxed however I declare it? What about SIRIM? does Ipod need SIRIM nonsense?

Should my seller declare it straight as an Ipod in the package or something else? How will they find out anyway if they don't rip it open?

declare as electronic for gift. state value.

they will scan it with x-ray nachine. if unlucky, you get taxed. and no need sirim nonsense

Added on January 22, 2010, 1:08 pmbtw..they might rip it open if deemed necessary. then stuff everything back in.

How come tax is so high??? shouldn't it be like around 10% only?

Isn't custom office in LCCT? How do they get sent to Johor?
