1750 is about 1 stop faster than 1680. so it all depends if you want the reach or the extra stop smile.gif

anyway, 1680 spam below

1680 CZ is one heck of a lens... lovely colors...  drool.gif  notworthy.gif

thanks! the colors only pop out after adjusting the level since it was actually quite a dull & cloudy day

braindead_fr3ak: i'm using the 24-70 on my a700...it's just nice...for a walkabout lens...better than having 16-35

my 2 cents
*
i would prefer having 16-35 as walkabout on an aps-c camera. perhaps because i prefer wider shots.

lwliam, weixuan: i'm planning to upgrade to FF once the replacement for A900 comes out...so...just need to tahan till i get my FF...

24mm on FF should be comfortable enough...compare to aps-c

lwliam: previously i had my sigma 10-20, 16-80 and 18-250...base exif...all my shots are usually taken avgly at 30-60mm...so...24-70 will fit my style just fine...

i know what u mean when u say distorted, but sometimes in tight conditions it really saves the day (and even with pronounced distortion) it gives more kick than just any regular joe's photos. but it of coz boils down to preference.
out of my 5 lenses, 4 of them are FFs too... i can still wait... wink.gif
*
all moving towards FF thumbup.gif

but for myself, I will probably move towards m4/3 or APS-C EVIL camera (if sony makes one) when they mature. i prefer smaller camera brows.gif

my sentiments exactly! Have been using A100 for 2 years now and still loving it!

1. although i would prefer it to have better high ISO, but i wouldn't trade it for the ISO 80 that is just so useful
2. ditto on the F58. i haven't use any other flash so it's not fair for me to compare. but F58 is just a breeze to use
3. i once tried using my friend's camera with a 50mm mounted and wondered why my photo are still soft when i used 1/30s. too pampered by steady shot tongue.gif

Tokina has launched its first lens in Sony's Alpha mount. The AT-X 116 Pro DX 11-16 mm f/2.8 lens will be available in Japan from from February 24th, 2010 at an approximate retail price of ¥94,500 (~US $1046). This announcement means Tokina becomes the last of the big three third-party lens makers to support the Sony format.

SHOfrE3zE: Ah see. See you then!

Kul | Mo0: I am thinking of going to Steve McCurry's Photography Exhibition at Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia before that, maybe 3pm or so from Kuala Lumpur KTM. It's walking distance from Pasar Seni or Kuala Lumpur KTM station (kinda, but the walk there is very photogenic.)

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=islamic+arts...d=0CCIQpQY&sa=X

lugiamcg: The A450 won't be brought in Malaysia officially. However you can still ask at a Sony Style or a dealer (they can only bring it in, in bulk, like the A380/A500).

weixuan: Sweet! Though, the range is too darn short, ending at 16mm on APS-C. Also, not sure if it supports manual focus override though it has the old clunky AF/MF clutch.

Personally I would rather the 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 fisheye zoom for APS-C; now that's interesting!
*
yeah, the range is kinda short, even shorter than sony 11-18. i'm interested in their 12-24 f4 though, but not sure when would it be available in a-mount...

i'm so noob sleep.gif

After using my dSLR for more than 2 years, i just realised yesterday that when i do manual focus, i can use the "round dot" in the bottom of my viewfinder for focus confirmation. no wonder i suck at manual focus
