QUOTE(ieR @ Jan 26 2010, 12:19 PM) funny, i not sure bout albnok and CJlai, my fisheye is SSSed. ^^; i felt the sss on my FE oso 18mm is consider wide. because u still stand infront of all other compact camera to shoot group photo. and i always turn to 24(even apsc) to shoot, it is less distorted then 18mm. 16 and 18, a minor diff in space/area, but the distortion is big. pic gets blur out wen sss off slow shutter ![]() |

QUOTE(ieR @ Feb 4 2010, 07:26 PM) forget about getting lens oversea. warranty issue is a big headache. unless u get cheaper by 30-40% off retail price(not street price), then only can reconsider. agreed with u bro... recently bot a lens fr US... got prob with the aperture.... cost me RM170 Pos Laju to send it back for fix/exchange.... waited for another mth n yet the problem still not fix.... ended up kena send back again for full refund.... really big lost.... at least RM340 buta buta for Pos Laju and wasted a lot of time on tat.... |

"A 100 mm lens with an aperture setting of f/4 will have a pupil diameter of 25 mm. A 135 mm lens with a setting of f/4 will have a pupil diameter of about 33.8 mm. The 135 mm lens' f/4 opening is larger than that of the 100 mm lens but both will produce the SAME illuminance in the focal plane when imaging an object of a given luminance."

@achew
same aperture f/1.4 for 30mm, 50mm, 85mm will hv diff DOF altho all 3 lenses will produce the same illuminance in the focal plane... but the DOF is diff due to diff in the focal length more DOF > 30mm > 50mm > 85mm > less DOF |
