I've heard stories about the thirsty hippo sucking the air out of all rubber made material making it crack or unusable, logically correctly but it's going to take sometime for it to do so... and someone told me to place a wet sponge together with it just to balance out the humidity inside the container. Some fella told me not to airtight the container just open a bit, really don't know which one to follow.
