What does tiered mean? After CIC7, teams will be separated into tiers based on performance. A tiered event will mean that each player will only be able to compete with players within the same tier. This also goes for any tiered team tournaments . There are 3 Tiers, Tier 1 (Top Seeds), Tier 2 and Tier 3 (Entry Level). Instead of "Banning" pro teams, they will compete amongst themselves until teams from other tiers become capable of being "upgraded" to a higher tier.
A team is upgraded/downgraded depending on their performance throughout a tournament/league or cup, a system which is currently being built by VITANOVA. This will give a chance for players within each tier to prove themselves against others on the same level.
What happens if my team recruits a Tier 1 player but we are a tier 3 team? After leaving Tier 3, a player will never be in tier 3 ever again unless he/she has been inactive for a full year or through drastic changes in a mod/system or through horrid losses through multiple tournaments/leagues.
Having a tier 1 player in a tier 3 team will result in the tier 3 not able to compete in a tiered tournament. This restriction is removed on a non-tiered tournament (Open to all tiers).
What do the tiers mean and how do i get there?Tier 1 : Top Seeds - solid performance, podium placings(1-3), little to no change in lineup - max 8 teams
Tier 2 : Solid performance but no podium placings (4-12) - max 16 teams
Tier 3 : Entry level, New Teams, Unknown Teams - no maximum number
Why bother be in tier 1, i can tapau tier 3 teams what!In tournaments with group stages, Tier 1 teams benefit from not having to meet other Tier 1 teams within the same group, giving them a higher chance for the prize pot. All top seeds will be separated into different groups together with Tier 2 and Tier 3 groups.
In tournaments with non-group stages, Tier 1 teams will never meet another tier 1 team in the first round, unless all 8 teams are tier 1.
Tier 1 tournaments or tournaments that consist of Tier 1 teams will always have a larger prize pot, due to their registration requirements.
Past, Present & FuturePast teams that are no longer active and reactivate will be placed in Tier 3 if :
1. They left before the Promod era
2. They have been inactive for over a year
Past teams that are no longer active and reactivate will NOT be placed in Tier 3 if:
1. A majority of the former members joined other teams competitively
2. A majority of the members are from current competitive teams
Present teams that have taken the podium more than once in past events are automatically Tier 1 teams.
Present teams that have never taken podium or have not taken podium more than once are automatically Tier 3 teams.
There are no Tier 2 teams in CIC7.
This will determine the seeding for future events
