Did you plug in the 4-pin ATX12V connector? unsure.gif

Is this motherboard a new one? Try exchanging it with another one (the shop should give 1-to-1 exchange for the first few days). If still problematic then get either the GigaByte GA-G31M-ES2L, GigaByte GA-G41M-ES2L, ASRock G31M-S or ASRock G41M-S instead hmm.gif

Just now i had in my hand this same ECS motherboard. Its a replacement board for a damaged MSI 945 one. I tested with a Pentium D which is older than yours. It would not boot and there is no beep.

Finally found that the ECS G31 board does not support DDR 2 533mhz ram. It can only take a minimum of DDR 2 667mhz. So in goes the 2GB DDR 667 and it works like a charm. Hope you could check the ram speed and see if that is the problem.
