I'd suggest you to know your expectation & budget.
If you are looking for the current flagship model, get Hero (oh well, maybe Nexus One). If you want the next flagship, wait.
If you want to know exact info regarding those new lines, contact HTC or SIS directly :-)
SIS is at 0355698878

Models will keep coming on and on..You just have to analyze the specs and find out what do you really need..I analyzed Nexus One at its max and it fitted me best (and I don't regret it now)..If you think you need something extra (ROM or RAM or etc), then just wait..soon there will be model out with your favorite feature too.. eg: I had Hero that was running a 527MHz CPU..I already knew I would need at least 700MHz for my CPU..Nexus One offered 1GHz, so I already knew it will be good for me..Hence, I made up my mind Thats how you guys should plan too..

thank for the advise guys.. i hv a budget of around 3k, tht's y i hestitate.. don't mean i must own the flagship model, jus wanna knw a model that would last me for the next two year, as tht my usual mobile phone would last..
icycokes, not much ppl gain tht benefit as u did..
shahz, may i knw wat do u usually use ur phone for as u need such high processor? coz the last PDA i use was D810 previously was dopod then later it become HTC, and i realise it kept hangs, that y i avoid WM untill hero.
Added on January 20, 2010, 11:21 pmand another thing, i kept hearing ppl say android 1.6, 2.1 those, is there such big diff in diff version?
and those who are using hero, can i knw the feedback? beside more new high spec model coming out.. =='

Actually so far I noticed, speed is not an issue and the phone is almost the same...except the camera and headphone jack.

You can also check out Singapore. Got some great deals, if you don't mind the warranty issues.

i have hero, due to the same reason of wanting to try out android. and i've abused it to the very limit of its hardware capabilities. right now im using android 2.1 with senseUI on it and it really flies.
but, when you've taste how good android is, you will really tempted to try new and better hardware, and thats where i am right now, the phase where you arent satisfied with what you already have.
so now nexus one/milestone is in my shortlist for my next hardware, but i need to know what the future hold, so maybe i'll hang to my hero for a lil bit more just because it really can deliver what it promised.
so i say to you with all honesty, if you have RM3k to spend, i say give hero a try, save RM1k for your next adventure.

hey guys, mind if i tag along... I am having this dilemma too.. but like shahz said should look at specs... anyways i just need your opinion guys,
is there a difference in CPU speed and actual functioning speed? Cause currently i'm using Linux on my ten(10) year old laptop but it still boots up and runs faster than my desktop running windows.. so to me, Linux is fast no matter what..
my question is, does android really requires that much CPU power? i've read somewhere that the min requirements of android is 200MHz. Knowing Linux, its never really an issue with old hardware.. is this the same with android? eg. future upgrades requires 1GHz cpu?
apika, do you mind giving us a rundown on how android 2.1 runs? and lag or anything? shahz, what do you mean you need at least 700MHz? is it some kind of software you're running or lots of multitasking?
thanks a lot!

I'm ready to let go of my 3GS for the Hero only to find out most phone shops are quoting me over RM2k. I think that must be SIS sets, eh? How much a non-SIS set would usually cost?
