i don't know if anyone has already shared this info cause i lazy to go through so many pages...
super car and hyper car brands like Ferrari and Porsche uses ceramic brakes which come standard with all their latest model and it is considered high tech in the racing industry for it's ability to handle very high heat and also perform BEST when at the extremely high heat that other types of brakes cannot handle.
for me personally i drive up to genting occasionally and just to share i have overheated my brakes to the point that they barely grip at all and when i actually reach down the hill, i find that my brakes somehow literally "melted" as it looked really uneven and needed changing the next day. i'm looking to try ceramic brakes myself but as you can see from the info i shared above, (thinking that brakes like this come from expensive cars) ceramics would cost a lot more than normal (actually they charge a lot more, like 12k to 15k, but that's with the whole brake set including the rotor and everything) so i forgot about it until i found the nice price at TS's post here. will definitely get one set as soon as i check with my mechanic. =]
