Just wondering if the PSOne can support S-Video cable. I bought a second hand guncon cable that has S-Video and composite out. The cable is fine when I plug into PS2 - both S-Video and Composite working, but when I plug into PSOne only the composite working. So I was wondering if the PSOne can support S-Video or not. If can, is the pinout different from PS2?

The PSOne also send for service before because of fried composite out in the past. Is it possible that the technician didn't do good job that he fix the composite out problem but broke the S-Video in the process? I got call the shop already, shop say PSOne cannot support S-Video, but Internet seems to say otherwise?

I have tried S-video for PS1, and even got a couple of screens on it showing the difference laugh.gif

But from what I heard, PS1 doesn't support Component.

Yes, PS1 can output S-video by default. Could be something wrong with your PS1.. unsure.gif

And if you ever thought of letting go your PS1, I am always here...
I am ok to accept a PS1 that does not support S-video.

Ok, thanks Gundam. I will go home and do more test. Knew something funny already when I saw like got signal like that, but no sync.

Eh, you don't want that PSOne, really. It has been modded (not my choice. Bought already like that), it's GPU fried before, and it has my childish stickers all over it...

Unless you're okay with just the innards of the PSOne. Case I keep because of the stickers tongue.gif

Added on January 18, 2010, 9:02 pmOk, I tested some more. It turns out that it has same problem as I have when I first fried the composite, that's why the VGA box showing only blue screen most of the time, when put in disc and the scene is bright some times got image some times don't.

Can someone please tell me what is actually wrong with the PSOne ar? The guy said fried GPU, but now from the looks of it it's unlikely. Since previously I have this problem with composite, but now composite is okay, but S-Video showing same problem.
