This is under email settings > board preference

Enable 'Email Notification' by default?
If ticked, choose default type: [No/Immediate/Delayed/Daily/Weekly Notification]
Enabling this option will automatically subscribe you to any topic you start or reply to.

Actually how does this work? i tried to reply to a topic, sometimes it will subscribed automatically, sometimes it wont

Mind if i ask here, seems its in the topic.
1)
May i know why by default its "delayed email ntification"?

-Delayed Email Notification-
This option will send out a notification if a new topic or reply has been made and you're not active on the board.

-Immediate Email Notification-
This option will send out a notification immediately after a new topic or reply has been made regardless of your activity

I cant understand what the difference between two as i had bold it in blue.
For me whenevr i track a topic,i will choose "immediate email ntfcation"

2) The subscription topics is being arrange according to forum site
such as Garage Sales,Kopitiam and etc. My question is, Is it possible to rearrange manually our "thread" subscription in view topic subscript? Especially for trader/buyer would be easy & efficient for them to keep track it instead of searching down and up their own thread and the subscribe one.

Hope can get reply.

1. Delayed email notification - eg. One email per topic and visit. No more 20 emails per hour regardless what you do ..
2. The team may need code your specified question, im familiar with vB but not IPB so, im not sure if the facility exists in IPB Trial (which being used by LYN)

2nd one shall be answered by the relevant person whom maintains the board backbone nod.gif

sorry for bumping 10 year old thread, but the question remained unanswered...

Why "Enable 'Email Notification' by default"?

If possible I want to have the ability to choose "No Email Notification" directly from

Options > Track this topic > choose "No Email Notification" from a drop box

rather than

Options > Track this topic > Control Panel > View Topics > Find the topic from a long list of tracked topics(!!!) > Tick the topic > choose "No Email Notification" > with selected button

this also applies to "Subscribe to this forum"
