@balckheadssux,
If you're referring to rebate/discounts from developers, nothing. It doesn't matter to them whether it's your first property or your 10th.

Alrite, but how bout the legal fee, loan agreement fee, MOA, stam duty etc etc.

Cos i heard from a fren that 1st timer will definitely enjoy a rebate/discount. Just that i am not sure particular which one.

Thanks rclxms.gif

Its not the matter of 1st timer or not.. its a matter of which project you purchase, which developer that you purchase from and what kind of promotion that the developer is giving at that time..

Buyers can get discount even purchasing his/her 100th property.. while some first buyers dont even enjoy a discount, it all depends on projects

Your fren might give you wrong info, 1st timer will not necessary enjoy a rebate/discount.

There is a discount.. I can remember exactly, but something like, if the property is less than rm250k, the government only charged you a small amount.. Aarr.. sorry, I can remember what charged is that.. I need to look at my billing first.. and I'm sure many forummers know about it.. let them clarify..

legal fees - lawyers are not suppose to give discount, but depending on your lawyers - they still do, due to competition

loan agreement fee - depends on your loan that you take, not sure if there is still those where the banks will pay the loan agreement fee (that's call zero moving cost)

stamp duty - 50% for those below RM 250k property value

I think TS talking about rebate for tax filing for first time house buyer.

Individual who purchase first house below or at RM250,000 are eligible to 50% stamp duty exemption.

Just mention to your lawyer that this is your 1st property. Normally he will deduct 50% on your stamp duty.. rclxm9.gif

oh.. yea.. thanks for reminding.. as you've said.. stamp duty, 50% discount, but not necessarily for the first timer only.. everyone is entitled once.. if you opt not to use the 50% discount, you can use it later if you buy another house of less than rm250k. Basically, you can use the discount, or you can keep the discount for another property purchase.

However, the 50% discount for stamp duty is not forever.. not sure until when.. maybe until our economy recovers..

If my memory serve me right.
The 50% rebate is valid till 2012.

This is not discount on the spot. I have to pay and ask lawyer to reimburse it back.

Please check with your own lawyer for more details.
