At first thought, i thought this could be drive letter clashing, but seems like the case is deeper than i thought. sweat.gif

Have you install WD SmartWare in your computer? Try run the SmartWare. Does it happen to ask you a password?

The controller board for the drive seems to be ok. But i think the drive is starting to fail. In this case, there is nothing much you could do but get a new drive. Suggesting data recovery could be out of reach to you because it occurs a lot of cost.

An earlier suggestion by another forummer to crack the case and link it up to another case seems to be a good idea. But before that, i would try and source a new USB cable first. Get the ones with 2 USB connectors for extra power from another USB port.

Else u gotta live with lost data then. Good luck.
