we lost to a better team...nevermind...dah biasa kot kalah...

i got some question here...did we see Gerrard take the ball from centre (where Lucas and Masch should be) and bring it to the front? , or passing it to team member? (in every game that he play)

QUOTE(cherroy @ Feb 11 2010, 05:57 PM)
Actually sometimes, sometimes, the way the team plays will make a player look worst. There is little support for the front, except Kuyt and Gerrard.

If you consistently play 2 DM and non-advantorous fullback (like Carra) and lone striker, any ordinary striker apart from really good one like Torres, surely it makes their job tougher and look worst.

Even Torres looks poor when playing lone striker, keep on being bullied, tackled, brought down by opponent defence.

If a team is playing good football, like Arsenal, MU, Chelsea, throwing ordinary player to fit into the team, they will be looked better or at least a class or 2 above his real ability.

If throwing Ngog and Babel into MU or Arsenal team, then they might not looked as worst as most people view.
*
this is because our ATTACKING MIDFIELDER HAS TO GO DOWN, TO PICK UP THE BALL ..... mad.gif

then who is left infront? Kuyt, Reira/Maxi, Ngog....while opponent just fill up the box.....4 Vs 6? 7? 8? players???

exactly man utd's weakness. When u go 7 or 8 in the box, the space in the box gets squeezed hard, and the players would be suffering to move in. Plus united dont have much sharp shooter...

o shi-, why am i going OT ;lol...
*
was that Man Utd weakness? i thought when Rooney pick up the ball from center, Evra, Nani, Berba, whoever midfield you have..all are going forward to get the ball from Rooney...

the different is, Liverpool only have Reira/Maxi, Kuyt and Ngog/Voronin/Babel infront...while Masch and Lucas staying in centre...was that and effective attacking?? YES...if we have players like ALONSO (WHO CAN SHOOT/PASSING FROM 20yards ) ....

is there any player in the Liverpool can replace Alonso? i know who can replace him....cause he has been there before Alonso ... wink.gif

Benayoun returns to training

Rafael Benitez has revealed that Yossi Benayoun has return to first-team training with Liverpool after his broken rib.

Benayoun has not featured since the FA Cup defeat to Reading on January 13 and was ruled out for around a month, suggesting his comeback is not far behind schedule.

"Yossi was training with the team," Benitez told the club's official website. "Still we have to be careful with his rib but he was training."

Benayoun is not expected to feature in Thursday's Europa League tie at home to Unirea Urziceni but could be in the squad for their crucial Premier League match at Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Benitez hopes 19-year-old former Barcelona attacker Dani Pacheco can establish himself in the first-team in the near future.

"Dani is continuing to train with the first team," he said. "When we let (Andriy) Voronin go (to Dynamo Moscow), we immediately brought Dani into the group and every day you can see that he is progressing. His training is good.

"Every day you are thinking about when you can play, he has been on the bench a lot and sometimes you are thinking when it might be right to put him on, but you also have to think about senior players and giving time to others who need it.

"The one thing we know, though, is Dani is a player with quality. He has game intelligence and we know that he can make a difference. He is still very young but we are pleased with him and he is doing well."

He added: "Dani has no problems when he is in possession. He is clever and he always wants to try difficult things but that shows the quality that he has.

"The fact he is training with us shows what we think of him. He is with us all the time and that means he can play at any time. It depends on the game but, clearly, if he continues to keep working as he has been doing, he will definitely get his chance."

Del Bosque: Liverpool's Torres loss is Spain's gain

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque wants Fernando Torres to play as few games for Liverpool as possible in the build-up to the World Cup in order to ensure that the striker is at his peak in South Africa.

Torres, 25, is currently absent from the Liverpool squad due to a knee injury and has been restricted to 14 Premier League starts this season due to a number of fitness concerns.

The situation is not unduly concerning Del Bosque though, who hopes Torres takes his time to recover from his injury and remains fresh as Spain look to add the World Cup trophy to their victory at Euro 2008.

"The fewer games Fernando plays for his club, the better it will be for us," said Del Bosque in the News of the World. "We want him not to play too many games, to recover completely for the World Cup and have had some rest in between.

"We'd like him fresh for the tournament. That can only be good news for Spain. We hope Liverpool's loss will be our gain. Fernando Torres represents a crucial part of our squad."

Benitez has previously expressed concern with the way Spain have used Torres after seeing the striker come back from international duty with fitness problems in the past.

The former Atletico Madrid striker is unlikely to face Manchester City next weekend but could play against Wigan on March 8.

Added on February 16, 2010, 12:10 pmMorgan: Liverpool should have accepted my offer

Wolves owner Steve Morgan claims Liverpool would be debt-free if they accepted his investment offer before George Gillett and Tom Hicks eventually took charge at Anfield.

Morgan abandoned his bid for Liverpool in 2004 after"`indecision'' from the board, with Gillett and Hicks taking control three years later but having their reign heavily criticised by supporters for the debt taken on by the club.

"I was going to put at the time up to £70million investment into the club,'' Morgan told Bloomberg. "It would have been cash into the club. It would have pretty much reduced the debt and got the debt down to nil.''

Liverpool's debt has been estimated at £237million and chief executive Christian Purslow has been working on securing outside investment.

The club have to pay interest on their debt, but Morgan added: "If I'd have been there, there wouldn't have been that interest bill.''

Morgan has bought Wolves since and is optimistic about the future for Mick McCarthy's side after promotion to the Premier League.

"Our plan this year and hopefully next is to establish ourselves in the Premier League and to build,'' he said. But again, it's a step at a time. This year is about trying to establish ourselves and then to take the club forward.''

Liverpool cant score much nowadays...just mark Babel and Ngog, our attacking will be shut down, our midfield cant create much opportunity to give the ball to the striker or score by themself...

i feel now Liverpool was a place to test player and tactical playing...dont have decent striker like other team do...Chelsea got Anelka, ManUtd got Berbatov, Arsenal got Bendtner ..(dunno)

if we see this player, they are playing as 2nd Striker...if they lose their main striker..they have another one...so..what we got? yes we got 2nd striker.. at the bench...so how they will perform?

Midfield...has our midfield score as good as other team? Valencia, Nani, Arshavin, Joe Cole, Ballack,

so this season we just test our tactical and player?

Premier League owe 56% of European football debt

A report to be released by UEFA on the financial wellbeing of European football will reveal that Premier League clubs owe 56% of the continent's total footballing debt, raising further questions about why English football's finances have been allowed to spiral out of control.

George Gillett and Tom Hicks at Liverpool and the Glazer family at Manchester United, have accrued £1 billion of debt between them
The biggest worry for Premier League clubs is that both West Ham and financially stricken Portsmouth are not even included in the official report, shakehead.gif called the "European Footballing Landscape", as their monetary problems prohibited them from being given UEFA licenses, meaning that the figures for English clubs would be even higher.

The Premier League debt comes despite England's clubs earning significantly more from televsion and other commercial income - €122 million on average - than any of Europe's other major league

Details of the report, released in the Guardian on Wednesday, reveal that the combined debts of the 18 Premier League clubs, excluding West Ham and Pompey, sit at £3.5 billion, with two of England's biggest clubs, Manchester United and Liverpool, owing around £1 billion between them.

The figure is more than all other European leagues combined and around four times the figure for La Liga, the second most indebted division. As the report analyses the 2007-08 annual accounts of all 732 clubs licensed by UEFA, the Premier League's actual debt is undoubtedly higher, as the interest payments for clubs like United and Liverpool have increased.

The debts of both United and Liverpool are cited by UEFA as highly significant to the Premier League's overall debt, with the report criticising the leveraged takeover model employed by George Gillet and Tom Hicks at Liverpool, and Malcolm Glazer at Manchester United.

"Just over half of [the Premier League's] commercial debt has been placed into the [relevant] clubs [or at a holding company level] recently as a result of leveraged buyouts," the report says, "so far acting principally as a burden rather than to support investment or spending".

The revelations of the report are likely to increase the calls for UEFA to bring in its proposed Financial Fair Play Rules, which make it a requirement for clubs to break even from 2012-13, with UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino pointing to the crisis at Portsmouth as the latest evidence that financial reforms are desperately needed in European football.

"The Portsmouth example shows something must be done to help the clubs be more sustainable," he told the Guardian. "The English Premier League clubs have higher revenues, but it is worrying to see such huge debt. If it is borrowed to fuel spending on players, the problem comes when you cannot borrow any more money and can no longer pay the debts."

QUOTE(kazuki85 @ Mar 9 2010, 02:26 PM)
Like we discussed earlier we CANNOT sack rafa la...sacking rafa costs about 20m, if we sack him then next season we have to get a cheaper manager to replace him with no transfer kitty (since this year's transfer kitty also about 20m+).

Plus with the debts the yanks bought to us, the yanks will continue to collect Liverpool's income to payoff their bankloan. If we sack him, we're screwed financially...
*
we as fans know what the problem is...how and who should solve this problem?
we should win BPL, CL, FA, Carling....then our club financial will be secure..isn't? or im wrong?

QUOTE(kazuki85 @ Mar 9 2010, 03:30 PM)
What no chance? How many ppl think Man C who struggled in away games...can beat Chelsea by so big margin in Stamford Bridge??

Football is round, anything can happen.  rclxm9.gif
*
this is special case.... even Chelsea beaten by ManC..they still on top...
