They pay real peanuts, benefits wise is reasonable though.
Which department you applied for? Their service & system engineer position is always available whole year round. Sales engineer position also vacant pretty often. This post has been edited by deeplyheartbroken: Jan 16 2010, 07:01 PM |

QUOTE(akuler_14 @ Jan 16 2010, 06:44 PM) how about the working environment there?actually i got for the assistant engineer post..how about the allowance n benefit? Assistant engineer for what department?Executive or engineer level starts at level 7 (assistant post maybe level 6, i cannot be sure), there is a position allowance which is included as your basic salary. Mileage (0.70 sen/km) & handphone on claim. Outstation allowance is RM 45 per day. Benefits are pretty standard, plus with hospitalization & also dental (limit depending on your position). Starting annual leave should be 14 days. For sales department there is also a special handphone purchase claim up to RM 500, after you are confirmed. |

QUOTE(akuler_14 @ Jan 16 2010, 06:53 PM) i dont know which department..they didnt mention about that..how much the position allowance?is it worth working there? The position allowance was a gimmick. It is actually part of your basic salary. For examply, RM 2k basic salary agreed when interview. But actually in real, they will tell you as RM RM 1900 basic salary + RM 100 position allowance.Added on January 16, 2010, 7:09 pm QUOTE(akuler_14 @ Jan 16 2010, 07:01 PM) Depends on your career objective.Yokogawa is pretty stable & never heard of any retrenchment before. But salary is pretty below average. Benefits are average. As assistant enginer, you probably need to help on DCS & instrumentation systems/projects commissioning. WD I heard of retrenchment few times before. Benefits should be really better, assuming salary wise as well. Technician post, I guees you are involved in various plant maintenance & etc. This post has been edited by deeplyheartbroken: Jan 16 2010, 07:09 PM |

Hi bro, I got an invitation interview for System Engineer at Yokogawa Eletric.
By reading from previous post can tell me System engineer is in and out. Maybe because of pressure? bosses? By the way, I was majored in Control & Instrumentation. Well, this is good chance to try. Now still working in Semiconductor company. Also Japanese company. My enquire is, 1. Does System engineer (YEM) always go offshore? If go offshore, got extra pay or not? 2. Initial pickup training provided? Sorry man, my knowledge in DCS getting faded. 3. 2 years experience can demand 3k basic? 4. Does AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft project, Japanese language really help? Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(zhotyao @ Mar 20 2013, 12:22 PM) RM2.5k is ok for fresh grads cause this is your learning stage. If you're in GI department, u might have chance to go oustation within a year of working. And u can get site allowance to boost up your monthly salary. i.e: Rm2.5k (basic) + RM3k (site allowance) = RM5k+. Good enough? While if you're in Marine or doing Offshore, u might need be in office for a year before u can mobilize to platform/vessel. Of course Offshore project would give u better allowance. I can say, doubled from GI department. i.e: RM2.5k (basic) + RM6k(site allowance) = RM8k+. A lot? Note: Allowance calculated based on one month site work. Bonus wise. 1st year : 0.5~1.0 month 2nd year : 1.5~2.5 month 3rd year : 3~4 month And don't ask about increment, u will cry. Management is so so, can't bring out much of youngster talent nowadays. For all, Yokogawa is the place to learn before end user (Shell, Petronas, Exxon) absorb u in their company. |

Tq PLC programming concept consider same in some part of Yokogawa DCS and if you know SCADA, then you're 70% on this system engineering. Pretty easy for you to pick up I believe.Be confident during Q&A session and goreng it nicely. Applied system engineer with YEM? Then you're either in Engineering - General Industry or Engineering - Marine. Anyway good luck. Interview keyword: I'm fast learner, I'm very hardworking, I will do all kind of shit task and I will never give up. p/s: Please demand higher salary. I was kinda sad seeing fresh getting low pay with our current country expenses. |

Hi, I got interview request from YISS. What is the career path for this position? What is the difference between DCS engineer and safety engineer under this department?

Last year we have attended some FAT so it's like our 2nd place of work during offdays.
Personally, i liked the scope of job...very hands on. i even thinking of applying job here LOL. but the person handling our FAT said the gaji kecik. Once they go offshore they will stay like 3-4 weeks during commissioning. |

Yokogawa has been awarded by JGC consortia for Petronas PFLNG2 project - DCS related. Fat contract. Untunglah.

Please don't join this company. Sincerely. They don't set a clear career path for you, and never appreciate engineers.
