Actually, I've used both and yes I find kettlebells quite challenging and versatile as well. I however, wouldn't pay so much to use it because it just ain't worth the money. The dumbbell's equally versatile lah...

I heard that using kettlebells are a TOTALLY different experience to dumbbells as the weights of the dumbbells are quite even-ed out but kettlebells, their weights are quite, 'imbalance'. So it's definitely harder to use 10kg kettlebells compared to 10kg dumbbells, for example. Anyways, thanks guys for the comments. wink.gif

Trust me buddy, you ain't tried swinging an 80LBS dumbbell yet. When you use heavier dumbbells, the center of gravity is much harder to stabilize. The difference with the kettlebell is that the "bell" at the bottom, makes for a more forward pulling swing, thus you've got to develop stronger posterior chain muscles and have different technique when swinging, snatching or push jerking a kettlebell. However, dumbbells are a monster of their own as well, so is the sandbag, barbell, medicine ball and whatever other equipment that promotes free movement.

I wouldn't say that the 10KG kb is harder to use cuz once the technique is in, it's difficulty level is quite similar. The thing about dumbbells is that you can adapt and learn faster. But when it gets heavier, its got it's own difficulty as well.
