i just tried sending an mms (16kb) the status shows received.

will confirm with the recipient if the mms really reached.

Added on March 3, 2010, 10:30 amyes confirm receiver got the mms.

guys i dunno, but sometimes digi mms sucks when i send it, might take like 1 or 2 days to reach, but thats my experience.

maybe try with smaller size mms? lesser than 20kb?

Added on March 3, 2010, 10:32 ammy God..

i just received an mms, its sent by myself to my own phone (test mms).

only that its like sent a week +++ ago???

this is madness! >:D

does this mean that the action of me sending mms just now,  triggered the old mms that was not sent many moons ago?  sweat.gif
*
Wow, MMS sent a week +++ ago only received now??? That's not normal, right? Are you also in Digi too? Any other Digi users have same kind of experience? Or any Digi users can send out mms as normal?

I just swap to Digi from Maxis last week......when I used my Nexus One to send mms using Maxis, it worked......but now not luck with Digi :-(

@davidwyl - yes there is Google PinYin available in android market FREE. its cool, i'm using it.

----------------------

and guys, yes i'm using DiGi, i msned my wife after like one minute and she confirmed received my mms. i think digi has trouble sending large mms... try lowering the size of your mms just for testing purpose like under 20kb?

another thing, when you look at your APN list, does your digimms show the button? it shouldnt, it should be in like passive mode, as in NO selection button. coz you put MMS in your APN type. at least thats how it is for me.
*
There's no selection button after my setup........tested mms size around 19kb pun tak boleh :-(

QUOTE(tcmean @ Mar 3 2010, 11:31 AM)
I'm using this and it works great with default picture sizing.
You will need to set the DiGi Internet properly in order for the MMS to work. I'm not sure about others. But, my MMS only works after I made change on my DiGi Internet APN. Remember to select DiGi Internet as ur APN.
*
My setting is exactly as what you had posted and I selected Digi Internet as my APN too......

For those can't find USB driver who are using Windows Vista or 7, you can visit the following site for more info:

http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html

I'm using Windows 7 and inititially having problem with the USB driver too.....then I installed the USB driver package by using the SDK tool....

I notice after I installed the Cyanogen rom, marketplace is missing. How do I go about installing it back ? Thanks
*
I think this must have been answer many times already.......the Cyanogen ROM itself doesn't install Google default apps and you'll need to flash the add-on which can be found from XDA forum too.......

QUOTE(muzamil @ Mar 8 2010, 12:52 PM)
hi guys,

i have flashed my N1 with CM 5.0.4 and it was successfully installed. However when rebooting the phone it has been at the boot animation for quite long time... Is this normal? How long should it take?

Thanks in advance
*
I faced this problem b4.......it'll take longed time to boot for the first time (some might take up to 5 ~ 10min).....just wait patiently. If not (it was my case), you'll need to go into recovery mode, wipe everything and then flash the ROM again.....

Added on March 8, 2010, 3:59 pmHi All, I just wonder has anyone here try the UV and OC kernel which can be found from the XDA forum.

Some said that with the above, your phone actually work beyond the manufacturer spec and is no good for the phone.

I personally had tried the above but has not really see any obvious improvement, then I reverted to the original kernel (well, afraid it might harm my phone and since it doesn't really help).

Do you guys think that the UV can actually help to save battery? And the OC actually improve the phone performance? Even I couldn't notice any improvement over my phone but still would like to hear some opinions from people here who had tried it :-)

Hi, I might be wrong but I think nothing really wrong......only thing is the cell standby is quite high......is that mean your phone search for signal quite often (you have frequent drop line)? From what I understand the cell standby usage is refer to when your phone is searching for line signal (all sifu pls correct me if I'm wrong).

Have you guys ever monitor what is the battery usage (in term of percentage) when you set your phone to airplane mode? Mine is around 8% (set it to airplane mode just after 100% charge) after 7 hours time which I think is very high :-(

hi mox123,

thanks for the feedback, yea my phone always switch between 3G and Edge, (lovely DiGi, lovely)

airplane mode, i dont really use it. why do you use it, may i ask? do you travel often? or you just use your phone as wifi surfing device most of the time?

update: hmmm i just checked again, i've put only 2G connection in settings for quite some time now (like 1-2 hours), the cell standby is still that same number.
*
Sometimes I use the airplane mode during sleeping hour la, when I do not want people to disturb me and I need the alarm function to work tongue.gif

Then I have no idea why your cell standby is so high......maybe other sifu here can answer your question :-)

No need to install anything nor root. Just open the media player, play the song, then select Menu -> Use as ringtone.

Thats it.
*
There's another way u can do this, just create the following folder structure under /sdcard:

Media/Audio/Ringtongs

Then copy it music file into the above folder and it music will appear as one of the selection under select ringtongs option.

Besides that u can also create for the following but I have not tried yet:

Media/Audio/Alarm
Media/Audio/Notification
Media/Audio/Music

Hope d above help :-)

Hi guys~

Have some noob question that are confusing me after a few hours tried on my N1:

1)why my N1 wont pop up 1 list of wifi network available after i turn on the wifi?

2)I used my laptop to create a wifi AP~ why N1 unable to detect this AP but my Nokia can?

3)My N1 haven been rooted. It ask me to update system after i have set the maxis VPN (Thankx Shahz for the info sharing in the first page).. is it i need to update the phone ?

4)How to make sure my phone maxis(3g) is only use for mms and use only the WIFI for browsing?

5)How to know whether the particular application is still running in background?

6)How to use N1 multitasking function? or it has limitation in several part?

7)How to make sure your opened application has been exited (free the memory)?

from soo
*
1) will notify u only unsecured WiFi spot detected. To see a list, pls go Settings--> Wireless and networks --> wi-fi settings. Alternatively, u can install 3rd party apps like WiFinder.

4) it will auto switch between mobile and WiFi network to access internet depends on availability. If u really do not want to use 3g, I believe u can just remove d 3g APN and maintain mms APN.

5) open Setting --> Application settings --> Mange Applications --> click menu, select filter, then select Running

6) not quite sure watu mean. Most of the app when u open it to run, it'll stay at background even u exit it. When u open d previous closedapp again, it'll just release fr background and continue fr wat u left off. You can always use 3rd party task killer app to help u manage d killing of unwanted app, switching between apps and others function. Alternatively, u can also long press Home button to access most recently launch app.

7) normally u don't need to do that bcoz system is intelligent enough to handle it for u. If u want to control it urself, use 3rdparty task killing apps.

mox123~ Thankx for the answers~ (^^) Appreciated~

benny888 ~ no bugs discovered for the NexDesire? Application run smmoothly like the original firmware?

Added on March 14, 2010, 8:52 pmmox123~ i just look into the APN setting~ just wanna confirm that which part have to been removed if i only need MMS service~ ?

Maxis APN for Nexus One
You just need only ONE APN. Fill only the fields specified here. Leave others as they are!
1) Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Mobile networks -> Access Points Name
2) Menu -> New APN
Name = Maxis(3G)
APN = unet
Username = maxis
MMSC = http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc
MMS proxy = 202.75.133.49
MMS port = 80
APN type = default,mms

Which part have to been removed?
btw~ i just check my bill... this noon still RM70+ ... now RM161+ .... OMG!! i hate Maxis~
*
I'm using Digi which have separate setting....not too sure abt maxis. Maybe u can try to duplicate a same set of APN, then set one of d APN type to default and another one to just mms.....

If not, u might want to turn off some settings which will auto access internet.....try google it, u shd find some answers of wat can be turned off.

Maxis sucks..to solve your problem..
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go to phone information..
Click more..
And disable data connection

THis one..confirm wont go internet
*
Oh yeah, this work.....almost forgot abt this method......However, you might not able to send out MMS as well......kc_soo, you can try it out. And if you going to use this method and to make your life easier, you can download an app call Phone Info that will auto bring up the phone information and no need of typing *#*#4636#*#* which I can't always remember tongue.gif
