QUOTE(dicksonbell @ Jan 18 2011, 08:47 PM) Follow this guide carefully: Thanks for the guide. I still unable to upgrade to OS 5 though. However, I tried downloading OS 4.6 and updated my device. The DM is able to detect the new update. So my problem now is that my DM is able to detect OS4.6 but not OS 5. I am using Bold 9000 btw. Any solution for this? Thanks in advance.Upgrading Procedure for an Official OS release is as follows: 1. Download the OS and install it on your PC. (Make sure you have already removed any older OSes you have installed on your PC by going to Add / Remove Programs in Control Panel) 2. Delete the vendor.xml file (located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader) 3. Backup your 3rd party applications ( optional recommended step ) 4. Connect your BlackBerry to your PC and right click on a file named Loader (located in the same place where you found the vendor.xml > C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Loader.exe) and select '' Run As Administrator '' 5. Follow the prompts and make sure you select the languages and applications you wish to be installed. The Loader will backup and restore your data by default. Still Having Issues !!? I would recommend using BBSAK to Upgrade, so - Uninstall the OS(s) you already have installed on your PC - Delete the folder (research in motion) in ( c: \program files\common files\research in motion ) - Restart your PC |

QUOTE(dicksonbell @ Jan 20 2011, 03:17 PM) You cant do it at Desktop Manager our Telco OS are slow, you need to download and follow my guide above to update... I tried using BBSAK to upgrade, can detect my device and able to load the OS installed in the PC but unable to update to OS 5. Only OS 4.6 can be updated. Therefore, I pressed the 'Add' button in the application loader to upload and when I choose the .alx files, it says 'This application is not compatible with your device and cannot be loaded'. |

QUOTE(dicksonbell @ Jan 21 2011, 05:38 PM) Remember to delete the Vendor.xml files. If still can't then uninstalled Desktop Manager and reinstalled again. Suspect the loader driver are missing that why can't detect. Which OS Windows you are using now? I did not see the Vendor.xml file. I checked online, it says that if I have BBSAK in my computer, it will auto-delete the vendor file. I reinstalled my DM and restarted my computer. It still says the same thing when I tried to update using the application loader or BBSAK. I am using Vista. |
