Yea, turtles, RM2600 sounds a bit of an overkill. Official price now i think is RM2499, though you can get it lower through some forum members here (SIS Original sets). But no matter, its a great phone! I am a new user too. Add me up and i couldn't help but smile about what you said during ESPN..i kena racun too!

EDIT: BTW, custom ROMs rock! Luckily i had a lot of experience from my touch pro days. Unleash the 576MB!! (though i cant tell the difference)

Thats odd. Are you still using the original HTC rom? If this persists, i suggest you backup your phone and try hard-reseting it. Hope this helps

Try going to settings/personal/phone. Under the sounds tab, change the keypad option to off. Should turn off the beeping sound as u dial numbers. Hope this helps

Hey Bangsar, so decided to stick to the HD2 eh? good for you!

Unfortunately, no one can tell you the most stable ROM and radio at the moment. It all boils down to individual preferences. For me, I like using Miri's ROMs, and am currently using zenkinz's Merlion ROM. I use these ROMs as they reliably allow me to backup and restore SMSs on the finicky HTC Messaging Client. Radio i am testing the latest 2.10.50.28.2. Just installed it but seems ok so far. Have fun experimenting and flashing!

Start with all the usual reading at xda forums and htcpedia. Really informative. I learnt a lot when i first got my touch pro so my experience in flashing also was due to that phone. I was like you in the beginning, totally unsure, but as long as you read carefully, and with the hard SPL, its very difficult to brick the phone. Touch wood, i have been doing ok so far. I am in KL unfortunately Be patient, and have faith!

Actually it has been confirmed that our HD2 wont be upgradeable to WM7. Well, we probably won't get official upgrades, but hopefully those folks at xda and htcpedia can whip up some custom WM7 roms for our phones as and when it actually comes out.

Android without a doubt has its own appeals. Wife has a nexus one, and the apps and games with it are very neat. Unfortunately since using the HD2, all other phones i have tried seemed a little tiny in terms of screen size

I don't think it is needed as I believe this Calendar View update was made available before the ROM Upgrade to 1.66, so all those fixes prior to the 1.66 release should already have been incorporated into your ROM.

On a general note, i have been trying the new Ananda battery (1600mh) i bought from ebay Hong Kong. Though its rated higher than our original batteries, it doesn't seem to last as long. Maybe more usage later would help. Either way, its a good backup battery, and for the price, its a steal!

To all you guys/gals who setup streamyx email on the HD2,

Have you been having problems sending email through the phone lately? I can receive emails fine, but sending is not possible through streamyx. I have tried everything, even flashing to original ROM, but no go. Just curious if i am doing anything wrong. It worked fine previously, so i am assuming all my pop and smtp settings are correct.

I am really tempted to, but unfortunately, my Streamyx a/c is also my work a/c, so all the mail gets sent there. But i do have a gmail a/c, and recently playing with the Desire was really tempting! However, lets not get off-topic. Again, my thanks dgtel. I am just somehow hoping that Windows Phone 7 would be ported to our devices sometime later this year.
