QUOTE(Fornx @ Feb 4 2010, 05:22 PM) Okay, so next time I can update the rom manually through the internet? ROM 1.42 is good enough for hd2? PDA Expert sells all original devices under SIS warranty.. basiclly all HTC devices are under SIS atm.. kinda hard to find an AP set. and the best ROM atm for HD2 is 1.66.. actually to flash a ROM is very easy.. u just need to go to HTC's official website www.htc.com and select SUPPORT. select your phone model and it will show you all the updates for your phone.. select latest ROM update and download it.. run it like a normal .exe file and follow its instruction.. as simple as that... if u wanna save trouble, u can simply visit the nearest SIS service centre and they will help u to update the ROM for you.. but it might take quite some time.. hope this helps.. and errrrrrrrrrrr you are gonna love ur HD2 trust me |

From what I've read from this thread, some encountered bug issue with 1.66 and some don't. Let say I wanna update manually ROM Version 1.66.707.1, I don't have to backup anything right since I'm using a new SIM card for it? I just have to proceed straight to the upgrade right? and the best ROM atm for HD2 is 1.66.. actually to flash a ROM is very easy.. u just need to go to HTC's official website www.htc.com and select SUPPORT. select your phone model and it will show you all the updates for your phone.. select latest ROM update and download it.. run it like a normal .exe file and follow its instruction.. as simple as that... if u wanna save trouble, u can simply visit the nearest SIS service centre and they will help u to update the ROM for you.. but it might take quite some time.. hope this helps.. and errrrrrrrrrrr you are gonna love ur HD2 trust me Anyways PDA Expert doesn't help to update the HD2 ROM for free? Have to go to the HTC service centre? Sorry for asking a lot, first time buying a windows mobile phone. This post has been edited by Fornx: Feb 4 2010, 07:08 PM |

I just bought HD2 yesterday and when I check the ROM version, it already came with the latest version 1.66 installed. No need to update. No problem with the device so far. Everything is real smooth and working perfectly. Anyways PDA Expert doesn't help to update the HD2 ROM for free? Have to go to the HTC service centre? Sorry for asking a lot, first time buying a windows mobile phone. i have no issues with 1.66.. only some applications won't work with the new ROM. to be specific, Clean Ram and MemMaid are not usable with this ROM. it would hang right after i cleaned my RAM. others are working like a charm. but 1.66 improved my battery life by 50 % i have to say.. i experienced a really bad battery life with the 1.48 ROM and was largely frustrated. now i don't have to worry about my battery life. Some new HD2s come with 1.66 stock ROM as those are the newer batch. those old ones should be 1.48. but if you bought it from PDA Expert and it is 1.66, then i assume all the PDA Expert branches would come with 1.66 pre-installed. and whether PDA Expert provide ROM upgrade. i think they do and it is definitely free (only that some of them don't have the ROM and they have to download it from the official website first), you can request and i think they will do it for you. enjoy.. P/S: I worked for PDA Expert last year during my holidays... hehehe This post has been edited by RedDevils88: Feb 4 2010, 07:56 PM |

Lvl 3 is a better cleanup for the RAM comparing to level 2. Are you having a problem with Lvl 2 cleaning? Perhaps you can try it out with level 3.
[My Question] I'm currently using the cooked ROM Topix 1.1.7. I installed the hotfix (which i think its the SMS hotfix) then my HTC Message got corrupted. The font goes too huge and the whole thing is not readable, even after i set the font size to smallest but still cant read. Its like all the alphabert overlapping. (but i can still read it individual message though.). Topix 1.1.7 not stable with the hotfix? Anyone else faces this problem? 2nd question, anyone tried assigning a long ringtone for SMS alert? I tried to assign like a 35sec ringtone for the SMS alert. So when the sms arrive the tone is triggered, but even after i open up the sms, the ringtone is still running until 30sec.. Anyway to set it to stop ringing after i open the SMS? Thank you in advance for those replying to my post. Regards |
