I would like to buy a Subwoofer for my Denon 1910 AVR. Please recommend me brand, model, price and where to buy. Budget around 1.5 to 1.6k.

go buy velodyne impact 10, price at 1.2k
unless you want a bigger one there is a velodyne impact 12 something like that, around 1.7k

I am ex-velodyne user...the CHT-12R which retail for around RM3000 when it first launch in Malaysia. I think the sound is not very good lah....very boomy. It can play lots of bass but i would say crappy bass. From that experience, I would not recommend a veleodyne sub. Just my opinion.

To be fair, I'd rather drive the cheapest brand-new Porsche than a brand-new top-of-the-line Proton.

On the phone they might not give the best price. See them in person maybe can bargain down a bit more (and give you chance to audition also).

Frankly I don't think many of us here have actually heard some of these subs, so can't really give you a good opinion. Best to check some of the reviews online.

But the price on that Polk is very attractive.

btw i just bought jamo sub200 at HN ikano. rm650. tested in the shop n i think its enough for my small tv area.. but now i only find out that my peasant receiver got no sub preout

must be Pre-dolby prologic amp..

Then no choice use the speaker "high" level inputs wired in paralell from your receiver...
