As the topic says, some rules seriously needs to be considered in Sales section of lyn. Things looks pretty messed up to me in there.

1) No proper sales guidelines followed by almost all the sellers

2) Most of the sales threads don't use the template that's provided to make the buyers life easy filled with info's

3) Some random user just registers to perform a sales in lyn forum and just do it by posting item and nothing else. For example like some random shop owners chose lyn forum as their promotion area and post their items here. But no prices, no details, only pics despite numerous advises from users.

4) Sellers being abusive towards buyers when ask for best price. This is most stupid mistake a sellers often do is by not stating the price and demanding for a price from buyer but when buyer offers a best price or requests a best price, then the seller abuses the buyer.

5) No proper information about the item being sold.

6) After item being sold, thread never updated, never closed, seller abandons the thread as his mission accomplished making others wonder if the item still available for sale.

7) Lack of discipline, No tags, open sales threads. Despite warned of stating a tag, seller ignores the warning and continues with the sales.

Why don't the sales admins/mods bring out a strict rule to make the seller adhere to all these info's? It makes both parties life easier and less complicated and less flames.

Shut down the thread if they fail to adhere to these rules. Lyn does not make any profit out of these sellers. Lyn is just providing a space for these sellers to sell their items. So sell by following the rules or the thread will be removed within days of creation. This is getting too serious as ive seen many threads of sellers flaming the users by saying :

Seller : If you don't buy then GTFO and don't mess with my sales thread. <--------- now, does that looks appropriate?

Seller : Dont ask stupid questions like best price and i wont entertain in pvt <--------- now, does that looks appropriate?

Sellers have become more and more rude nowadays with attitude problem just for the sake of their sales. This is not appropriate. We want both parties to be happy.

I think its now or never for the admins to make a change rather than just looking at all these issues. Its a good forum, and i hope the admins will also clean the sales area and implement on new rules instead of only concentrating on other sections. If not enough mods/admins the i suggest the admin hire more mods to take care of these areas before it gets way out of hand. Now there's no control at all on these areas. I see mods controls on health section, /k/ section, tech section and they are quite active in there. Why cant the mods be active in this area too? Lack of expertise or not in their area of interest?

I hope i have not offended anyone but just highlighted something which i felt. Hope to see some changes soon so that everyone is happy in this forum instead of flames and arguments.

Thank you.

One thing that i do agree, sales thread is getting more and more messy. Forumers do not at all read what should be done before and after starting a sales thread.
Buyer's perception is: buyer is always right. More importantly they are abusing their rights.
That is why more seller is putting up disclaimer such as:
1)i can sell to whoever i like.
2)i can cancel my deal anytime.
3)My price is firm so don't PM me for best price.
4)No more bargaining upon COD. IF not satisfied upon COD, just walk off.

As a seller myself, i had some bad experience during COD in which i think seller is not being protected.
e.g.

Buyer wants to COD,i was like, ok, cool. nod.gif
In the phone call, i did mentioned please call me 20-30min before reaching as i need to get ready(Like anyone else, i'm not 24 hour ready to COD). He only call me upon arrival. sweat.gif
Upon my arrival at the point of meetup,i was blamed for being late doh.gif
Upon checking on the item, buyer ask for further discount..because the item was used(i am selling a 2nd hand phone anyway and i have clearly stated that in my thread) shakehead.gif
In this case, is buyer abusing his/her right?
