Thats the latest bug found on v40.

One of our forumer have a steps to overcome it. First u need unlock ur phone. Plug in the charger and switch on the plug (do i need to say this? ). Then only u can locked ur phone. By doing this, no more back-light problem.

if we download from ovi store for example a games
after it has complete download and install,is our tube save the download file?where is it being kept?

Err. I'd installed on my phone quite a long time ago. Its FOC, but u can juz view the files.
To enable the edit function, u need to buy it or get the *ahem* version.

Test Ovi map this morning on the way to Office. Found it very accurate and no lagging. With clean map and clear road vision.
Voice guidance also much better than Garmin.

Just to share some tips when search for street just key in Town before street name. Just plain street name and number (without "/")and search.

Hope this will help others.

if u don't wanna wake up during midnight and still affrid the lcd will spoil for whole night long lid up (the lcd will lid on after full charge), then do as follow:

1. goto Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone mgmt. > Auto. keyguard
2. Change the Keypad autolock period to "None"

This will totally disable the Autolock function (your phone screen will black out but the phone wont be lock), and when u doing charge or after full charge the screen will black out itself afterward and wont stay on... good for overnight charging

But i've run a check on the energy consumtion, when ur phone not in lock mode, although the screen black out, it's current consumption still highier then when it's in lock mode, below the read out value:

1. Phone in lock mode => idling average current use ~7mA (still highier compare with v31 idling in lock current usage ~3mA)
2. Phone screen black out (but not in lock mode) => idling average current use ~25mA

So can be say here is that when the phone not in lock mode, it will still in active and most of it's hardware still not in power safe mode although the screen already black out.

It depend on what u prefer, for me if I do an overnight charge i will turn off the autolock so to overcome the lcd constant lid on after full charge bug, and during normal usage I will activate the autolock function so able to save some battery juice

I do tested the Maps this morning... MAPS are very good in term of voice guide.. it guide u way before the turn u have to turn.. good work Nokia..

How can i get the free Ovi Maps?? I try the whole morning at Nokia Website but it doesnt send me the link to my mobile phone.. Is there other way to get that??

if u mention about voice guidance... try yet or not the English (UK) - with street names setting for the Walk guidance and you will be amaze!!!

Ovi maps izzit already insert in our phone while we are updated to V40?? Izzit "Maps"? But i use it will always charge me 10sen when i open it.. but after navigation is free.. Still charging rite??

ovi maps is the application. you only need to add maps

go to options > tools > go offline. from there, you can navigate using satellite

I using offline already.. but still charge me 10sen every 1st time i open...

already install ovi maps but very sad coz it eat my phone memory about 7mb..now it only left 53mb..dont like when my phone memory getting lower...waaaa!!!

that's the charge for the a-gps location fix data (5kb~7kb) data through the 3g internet for faster location lock...
if u wanna safe those 10sen then go into Menu > Apps > Locations under it's positioning method just select the Intergrated GPS and disable the A-GPS and Network... of coz ur location lock will be slower during startup

maybe u on ur a-gps...if u use a-gps it will charge u..

How if disable A-GPS any still able to navigate me??

sure it still can but only with slower to get a location fix during startup loh....

OVi maps not bad but coverage still not as good as malfreemaps..BTW, it is not 100% free. U can off the AGPS for 1005 free from GPRS/3G charges but you can't avoid the ~RM30/mth voice navigation charges unless u are buying the navigation version?
