at RM299, you can't complain much
many other more established brands is easily going for double of that price
and this model can even double as media player

Buy a GPS with Altas IV chip lar...Atlas 3 was old chipset...slower and takes much longer time to lock signal.

I have a GPS which comes with my Inspira using Atlas 4 chip...runs WINCE....can install Garmin XT no problem.

Actually, if you update to a Garmin Mobile XT, it could be better than low-end Garmin GPS itself...this is because the software Garmin XT has a lot of features reserved for high-end Garmin...while low-end Garmin GPS software lacks a lot of functions.

The only problem is the hardware...if your GPS is slow and laggy and hard to lock signal, then the software cannot help you...that's why try to buy better hardware with an Atlas IV Sirf chip ....

Depends on what you have....previously i have a Nokia 5800 running Garmin, and also Omnia 2 running Gamin. Both works fine. If you already have a mobile phone with GPS, no need to buy Garmin. If not, just buy a dedicated GPS. Both works, no problem. But for phone, you'll need to enable A-GPS to enable faster satellite locking (without A-GPS, might takes VERY LONG TIME). Drawback is A-GPS will incur data charges. But it's only like 10 cents per signal lock, as the data is very little. I have used Garmin on my Nokia 5800 in Thailand and Singapore as well. The phone bill charges is just normal.
