And these Proton cars don't come with good brakes, ABS, traction control and airbag. I feel unsafe now.

If countersterred correctly, you would have amazed those following you as the would have thought that you are performing a 'shadow drift' tongue.gif

Weather: Rainy
Road: 2-lane rural road that I use daily to return home from college
Car: Proton Wira 1.5A
Turbo: No =p
Speed: ~60-70km/h
Typical speed for the path: 80-90km/h
Occurrence: Never

Illustration of the skid:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Before the skid occured: Calmly driving, taking the slight left turn smoothly
1 second after moving the steering: Car unexpectedly drifting to the right
Countermeasure: Turn the wheel more to the left
Consequences: Skidding starts. Tyres screeching. Approaching to the left shoulder of road
Re-countermeasure: Turn hard to the right
Consequences: Car spin! Wheel locked. Steering feels non-responding
Countermeasure: Sit and watch the road spin
Risks: Chances of hitting lamp poles and road dividers
Final output: Skidded for about 20m, front bumpers touched down on road dividers. Minor scratch. Car in opposite direction of traffic

No casualties. Thank God.

For someone to drift properly on FF car, it takes lots of skill. My level is not so high although I play NFS.

I actually don't feel anything during the skid. It just felt like another NFS.

Then it was later when I start to think of my family, the person I love, friends, Lowyat.Net and facebook.
