Here my snr margin this few days is around 18 or 19 and lower...Therefore, i face frequent dc while gaming. Like what most of us will do is call up tm and bang them upside down until they sent a technician over. When her arrive, the 1st place he go is the interchange point which connect my inhouse copper line and the outside pole copper line. Once he open the casing it full of lizard egg shell and a dead lizard. pity him, he have to clean it up for me..

he then check the copper line copper line colour, it black ( a bad sign, since black indicate the copper is already heavily oxidized), a quick google search will tell you that copper oxide is not a conductor while a proper telefon line should be only pure copper and orange in colour. So he ask me for a cotton bud, a thine piece of cloth and s small plastic container.. Then he pour a small amount of acid, that he bring with him and started using the cotton bud to clean the black copper wire, until the copper wire turn to orange again, it like acid bath, rinse it with smal amout of water and connect both wire again and used a duct tape to insulate the wire

a second check show that my snr margin jump to 32, almost half or 50% improvement..

he then told me it just a temporary solution, i have to call TM again to ask fully replace my copper line from the pole to my house. and the acid wash only a small portion not the entire wire

hope it help felow LYN on quick and easy way to improve your snr margin although just temporary, i happy with the work done

u can try the abve method and see it work or not... if not u have to everyday call and ask them

i called, it took them a long time to come, but once they come, done in 30 mins, they din do the acid wash and just replace the whole damn wire ~ 200 meters....

well if u lucky they do other time they just test and test b4 chnage

the wire is not cheap

also, technicians have their own phone number, you can call them bypassing tm call center to get help, next time they come, ask for it.

I dont think pouring any acids onto the wire will help..They capped me at weird speed and give me horrible SNR for downstream..both attenuation also like crap because the nearest DSLAM is only 1Km from my house..Before they implement this Core IP and NGN both SNR is around 30-35dB and Attenuation is 20-25dB..Anyway, where to find their phone numbers? Im sick of calling 100 and their stupid procedures..

Sigh..mine getting worse..now on 13.9 ds and 12.5 us... tomorrow really nid to give them a bang....zzzz,,,

The tm pplz said snr margin 13 is normal ...they asked me to diskcleanup instead ...b4 tiz told me if below 15 nid to call them...so wtf should i do now? ><" dem..

That's why I never call their customer service.

They are correct, 13dB margin is actually okay for your current line.
However it leaves very little "safety margin" if the line subjected to sudden external interference etc and if you upgrade there might not be enough margin to support the higher sync rate.

Added on January 11, 2010, 11:40 pmYeah it should increase somewhat, even to your telephone cable connector heads, take a deep breath and give it a forceful blow of air...

If you have cotton swabs you can get some metal penetrating (cleaning) liquid and use the cotton swabs to "scrub" the contacts of the telephone cable connector heads... then use a dry cotton swab to dry out the excess liquid on the head.

DO THIS ONLY TO YOUR TELEPHONE WIRE "HEADS" WHEN IT'S NOT CONNECTED TO A WALL SOCKET.
NEVER DO THIS ON A WALL TELEPHONE SOCKET WHEN IT'S NOT DISCONNECTED FROM THE "SWITCHBOARD",
It might cause short circuit and more complications... ; ) just use a dry cotton swab and try scrubing as much dirt you can from the live telephone wall sockets...

if you wanna be hero, can try use liquid and see, report back what happens (if your line still functioning)

excuse me sir, i have just learn in chemistry in school that copper oxide is black colour. google it also can.

Copper oxidizes slowly in air, corroding to produce a brown or green patina. At higher temperatures the process is much faster and produces mainly black copper oxide.

In ur modem ADSL modulation page, select G.DMT instead of Auto-Select. Try it.

Also try T1_413 modulation.

3CRWDR101A-75 doesnt have ADSL modulation page..

I change my tel line in my house, and the line attenuation drop from 63db to 49db, will try to upgrade to 2m package again.

weird,why the technician came to my house said they don't change the copper line for customer, we have to change it ourself?

if inside ur house...then it's ur responsibility, they only change the cable between ur house and the telephone pole. u can ask them to change d cables inside ur house...but they will charge u.

my snr was at 10 now 13 and line att is at 45 but i feel the connection is completely down....barely able to play even games at FB sso laggy and download speed from websites which i use to 100Kb+ not torrent now only running at 15kb tops at 20kb.Any advice guys...
